Week 4: Sunbelt Prediction Thread
Week three was pretty disappointing overall for everyone in the Sun Belt, especially for Troy (sorry for beating a dead horse) but we are beginning to get a decent picture of how they teams will look for the rest of the season. Still a lot of tough out of conference opponents in week four. Here are my week for Sunbelt predictions:
Troy @ Georgia 52-10
Texas State @ Illinois 45-24
Georgia State @ Washington 42-10
App State @ Southern Miss 35-31
Idaho @ Ohio 24-17
Utah State @ Arkansas State 35-21
Georgia Southern @ South Alabama 24-20
New Mexico @ New Mexico State 35-31
Louisiana @ Boise State 42-28

I have NEVER been pulling for the Cajuns as hard as I am this week...
I can't stand Boise for that blue turf.

Still looking at lines for this week. I know Arkansas State is a 3 point underdog at home.

I would say UL and USA win this week. I don't feel Boise will beat us no do I think GS without a passing game can beat USA. I wouldn't be surprised if TxSt pulls off an upset also.

GS vs GT - 13/22 245yds passing, 1 TD
GS vs NCST - 10/17 192yds 1 TD
Passing game isn't terrible. If we can continue our success on the ground the passing game is about where we need it to be if we can keep our #1 QB healthy.

While you might be correct that USA beats us it won't be because we can't pass. We are getting about 200 yards a game in Passing to go along with the 300+ yards a game rushing.

Welcome to the belt where stAte hasn't played a P5 within 2 TDs in the last 3 years and still won the conference.
We'll be ok.

Hey App fans, do you get the feeling we've been in this kind of atmosphere before?

I agree GS will be fine, but it's not like stAte has played scrub ACC P5 teams the last couple years like GS just played. Auburn and Mizzou were in the SEC championship game last year. Oregon and Nebraska the year before. Besides, stAte played Tennessee to within 2 TDs - it was the botched extra points that made it 15! :)

I didn't say you wouldn't be ok, you just won't win. And yeah, I'm a little sick of all the long threads where some (some) GA. So fans pat themselves on the back and lament about what almost was against two mediocre P5 teams.
And the last 3 years our P5 games have been against Illinois, Virginia Tech, Oregon, Nebraska, Auburn twice and Mizzou. - All were bowl teams and pretty tough games. -
It's all good. Glad you're in the conference, wish we played you this year.

Both the teams we played are 3-0 right now. Though NCSU isn't that great, they are better than last year. Georgia Tech isn't really a "scrub" football team. They are a middle to upper ACC team.

I doubt it. Injuries will start piling up soon (they have already started to) and we will fade out down the stretch.

I get it "To be the Man you've got to beat the Man' and stAte (or some would say ULL) is the man. Wish we played at least one of you guys this year as well. As to lamenting our close losses I am with your there. We should have won the NC St game and we could have won the GA Tech game but we didn't so let's just move on. PS our last three years P5 games were Florida, Georgia and Alabama. And while we lost two of those to Georgia and Alabama we held our own for much of the game.
