@john_hartwell: I appreciate & share the passion Troy Trojan Nation has for our football program. Everything we do will be done to improve & win. Go Troy!

Very vague... But I mean he's not going to just come out and say he's fired or anything. This just shows you he has received a lot of messages in regards to our program and he is listening...

Thoughts?

I know it is rough but the guy would be your bobby Bowden or Mack brown. I think some Troy posters said your naming your field for him so I would be shocked if he is fired during the season. But it would surprise me if he is let go during the season bug stranger stuff has happened. I think your Ad will be moving behind the scenes to target a new coach, while your outgoing coach is given his push to resign or retire. Just my 2 cents.

With the problems Troy has had the last few years and then a loss to a FCS transitional team I cannot see any way he survives

Oh he won't... Question right now is, is he let go now or at the end of the season?

Fran is the reason we don't Win big games.. He is way to conservative.. I don't think we went deep once last night other than maybe once.. While throwing screens 30 yards to the far side of the field over and over and over again.. If we had Larry Coker best believe what happened last night wouldn't have happened .

Our offense was solid last night... minus some big penalties and bad ref calls, we would have had more points on the board. We moved the ball pretty well and we ran the ball efficiently against a team that sees the run day in and day out. We had just as much offensive yardage as them and more 1st downs.

It is our young defense that struggled. Mostly in the first half.

after the bad start, we played pretty well last night all things considered.

we haven't won many big games yet because we are only in our 3rd year at this level. 3rd year FBS against established FBS programs tends to equal some struggles friend. give it time... the wins will come.

navy might be the best team we'll face this year... and we made a decent game of it.

PS. There aren't a lot of Larry Cokers out there to go around. Fran is doing fine.. we are obviously improving. We could do much worse than that.

What needs to happen is Larry should Announce his retirement NOW and finish out the year... That way we can actively have something to look forward to.

Something needs to happen now. For the sake of your recruitment and current players. Either he says he is retiring and will be leaving at the end of the season or fire him. Troy is better than this.

How many years does he get to go 6-6 or worse till enough is enough... His in game play calling is bad.. If we go 6-6 this year ehhh one more chance .. If we go worse than 6-6.. It's time to find another coach.

we will be better than 6-6 this year... we will win at least 7 games this season, with a little luck maybe more. I'm pretty confident will get at least 7.

by the way... we went 6-6 and bowl eligible in our second fbs season. that's the second fastest to reach bowl eligibility for a transitional program. we were 4-6 the year before... that's steady improvement.

we could do a lot worse than that... I'm very happy with the progress and I'm stunned more fans aren't as well.

As a disinterested observer, that would be my guess. Announce he's retiring at the end of the year, and let the remaining season be a farewell tour. Who knows? Maybe the team gets off the deck and sends him out with a flourish?

Hey Texas State guys... Let's not hijack a Troy thread. We got a few message boards to complain about LT and/or Fran (I do so quite often on 1 or 2 of them!).

As for Troy, I love that your AD got enough messages to warrant him making some form of a response.

In a perfect world, I think the AD has told Larry that he needs to get ready to move on, and that it should be his idea. But if it's not his idea, then it will be the AD's.
