Greatest Bond Villain has finally left us..
There will never be as great a villain as JAWS

Quote:Richard Kiel, who played James Bond villain Jaws, died Wednesday afternoon, according to media reports. He was 74.

The character actor was in dozens of films over his 50-year career, starting out in 1960's B-movies, including "Eegah," "The Phantom Planet," and "The Human Duplicators." His iconic Jaws character debuted in Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me" in 1977 and returned to the franchise in "Moonraker" in 1979. He also played Mr. Larson in the 1996 Adam Sandler comedy "Happy Gilmore" and most recently voiced the character of Vlad in Disney's "Tangled."

The larger than life 7-foot-2 actor broke his leg last week and was hospitalized in Fresno, CA. He passed away Wednesday afternoon, it was not stated if the death was due to the injury.

Yep. Looking at his filmography, how this man did not get more CREDIT for being a great actor is just amazing... reading some articles about him now..

Pale Rider, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Gilligan's Island, Man from UNCLE, Twilight Zone, Longest yard ("I think I broke his F***in neck"), Nutty Professor with Jerry Lee Lewis, Rifleman, Night Stalker... damn, the man was in a ton of great roles!

He started being a "reporter" for a kids' tv show called "Paul Bunyan". He'd apparently go out and interview kids for the show in No California. Can you imagine being interviewed by this GIANT man? :)

I figured that's who you were talking about when I read the caption. He also played Mr. Larson in Happy Gilmore.

I remember him from all those shows. He also played in the original "Longest Yard" playing Samson and was Jackie Chan's sidekick in the "Cannonball Run II". In the "Longest Yard" he was the guy who went back into the huddle and said "I think I broke his ******* neck", then the other players state the same, the coaches and the play by play go on the radio.

All I remember from Moonraker is how unbelievable it was Jaws got that cute chick to like him. Think I was 8 when I saw that movie.

I always wanted to write a letter to him.

I loved his story of his conversion to Christianity.

I didn't know that he played Vlad in Tangled! He nailed that role, then.

God Bless to his family!

The man left an imprint on our culture, and by extent, each of us. He will be missed.
