I think GaSouthern has a real shot at Tech..A Southern win would be not only huge for the SBC, but even bigger for establishing Southern as a real threat to Tech as the 2nd fiddle to UGA in Georgia..

Air Force @ Georgia State - Triple Option tears GSU up.
Arkansas State @ Miami (FL) - Of all the possible upsets this week, this one seems most likely to me.
ULL @ Ole Miss - SEC Foe gets the W. But my picking an SEC opponent over ULL is probably based on "hate", right?
Mississippi State @ South Alabama - SEC Opponent. USA has a chance, but consistency is key.
Western Michigan @ Idaho - Decent performance this week. Definitely can beat Western Michigan.
Abilene Christian @ Troy - Don't be the FIU of the Belt, guys.
ULM @ LSU - I'd love ULM to win and they have a habit of taking down teams they really shouldn't. But LSU is just too big a task this season.
New Mexico State @ UTEP - UTEP looks stronger.
Navy @ Texas State - Triple Option

FYI, Air Force lost to Wyoming this past week. However the back story is Wyoming's new coach is Craig Bohl. Former NDSU's coach (3x FCS champion) who beat GS and SHSU in the playoffs and came from Nebraska. Needless to say, he knows how to defend the option. I suspect Air Force is going to put up a lot of yardage on Ga State running to the outside and straight up the middle. As a GS fan, I am interested in seeing how well Ga State defends AF.

Looking at Navy's qb, Navy is alot better than people think this year.

Reynolds definitely knows how to run the TO and is slippery as an eel. Not a bad passer either when he has to. I hope TXST has an answer to the TO because USA surely hasn't defended it well. Cal Poly and Navy are probably our two worst defeats to date. It seems like it would be easier. Just don't let them get outside the containment and take a chance against their passing game.

I am curious to see how ULL responds this week at Ole Miss. Rebels are a Top 20 team this year, meaning if the Cajuns come out down, it will get ugly...fast.

I want ULL to do well in this game, but Ole Miss is rolling right now. They ain't stopping them, and it will be ugly.

We used to play Nicholls St every year who ran the TO. Of course none of these players were around for that. Some played against Navy in 2012 we they traveled to Annapolis. The defensive line is young so I think the LBs will really have to step up to fill the gaps.

Not sure what Navy's defense is like this year but I'm hoping to see the Bobcats score over 30 to help out the defense as well.

I am interested as well. I think Ole Miss is overrated and if you can get pressure on Wallace he will collapse like a house of cards.

I don't think depth issues will be as big of a deal against GT. They've only been running ~60 plays this year. NC State ran 75. GT doesn't run hurry up and huddles between every play.

Add in the fact that nobody on the 2 deep played in the 2nd half this week, and we should be fine on the "depth" front.
This.

Since GT doesn't run a HUNH, depth won't be much of a factor, if any.

As long as our defense can remember how to avoid cut blocks, I think we will be in position to win this game in the 4th quarter.

RE: Week 3: Sunbelt Prediction Thread
GaSo 28 @ GaTech 27. This time with the lead late in the 4th quarter GaSo goes for the 1st down instead of the field goal and puts the spike in the heart of the Jackets.
Air Force 42 @ GaSt 14. GaSt will have no answer for the Air Force option attack.
Arkansas State 21 @ Miami (FL) 24. Miami escapes on a last play field goal.
Louisiana 17 @ Ole Miss 31. This game comes at a bad time for the Cajuns, but Wallace can be a turnover machine and make it very interesting.
Miss State 31 @ South Alabama 21. Jags lead early in the 3rd but can't hold on in the 4th.
Western Michigan 21 @ Idaho 24. Improving Idaho wins at home.
Abilene Christian 17 @ Troy 41. Trojans finally put a complete game together.
ULM 14 @ LSU 17. A good defense and pass rush keeps the Hawks close in this one. LSU has one home clunker a year and this year it could be against ULM.
NMSU 21 @ UTEP 31. Miners win at home.
Navy 28 @ Texas State 27. Navy's option and time of possession wear down the Bobcats and they win on a last second TD.

SBC isn't favored in many of these but I wouldn't be surprised if SBC won half. Even favorites Ole Miss, GaTech, Miss State, and LSU better bring their A games this Saturday.

GT probably gets the win. Ole Miss and LSU win much bigger than what's indicated above. LSU will be up 31-0 by halftime. If Troy pulls out a win, it will not be that close. A lot of teams up there I have no info on. Hope its a good week for all.

Don't know what the out come will be Saturday but I can assure you that we will not end September 1-3 take that to the bank. I originally predicted 3-1 its still possible but its a heck of a lot harder with the lost to LaTech. Definitely not 1-3.

I had to double check this. Miami is the only team on AState's schedule that doesn't run some version of the Spread offense.

Georgia Southern @ Georgia Tech - Jackets find Georgia Southern is not Wofford, but win anyway.
Air Force @ Georgia State - Falcons shoot down Panthers on the road.
Arkansas State @ Miami (FL) - Expect this game to be closer than last week's matchup vs. Tennessee
Louisiana @ Ole Miss (Beatdown of the Week) - Rebels run over the Cajuns
Mississippi State @ South Alabama (Game of the Week) - Jaguars collect their first-ever SEC scalp.
Western Michigan @ Idaho - Vandals run off Broncos
Abilene Christian @ Troy - Trojans take down Wildcats
ULM @ LSU - Tigers win big against in-state Warhawks
New Mexico State @ UTEP - Aggies win a close one
Navy @ Texas State - Bobcats take down the Midshipmen
