RE: Week 2 Power Rankings
ha, both times folks left Texas State out (and because of the bye, it makes sense), I'm reading down the Power Rankings and getting ready to write up a diatribe about how you could DARE to omit the Bobcats...

Then I get to the end.

RE: Week 2 Power Rankings
1) ULM - 2-0 for the first time since 1993, Not Kolton starting to earn his own name, and Centarius Donald finally healthy proving to be one of the best backs in the SBC. Maybe not the best in the league, but this week 1-0 in conference and earned top spot.
2) Arkansas St. - Nice showing against Tennessee and hard to go against the Red Wolves after three years of winning conference.
3) Georgia Southern - they really worry me. Wish we didn't play them. I'll trade you a Georgia Southern for Georgia State.
4) USA - The top is very bunched, but this is just this week.
5) Idaho - I was VERY impressed with the Vandals.
6) Texas St. - Could be best, but we just don't have enough info this week.
7) NMSU - 2-0 gotta at least put them here.
8) Troy - I think UAB is pretty good this year. Good showing against Duke.
9) App St. - Jury is still out
10) Georgia St. - getting better.
11) ULL - You earned that extra L this week. Obviously not worst team in league, but this week for sure. Am concerned that have lost 3 of last 4 pretty bad. Big 12 and access bowl a distant dream.

1. Arkansas State - My precarious #1.
2. ULM - I think we will beat them, but right now they deserve #2.
3. USA - Very lackluster performance yesterday, but it was game one on the road. Should get better
4. Texas State - Sleeper.
5. Ga Southern - Could climb the ladder higher. We'll see.
6. ULL - Ugh. What happened?
7. Troy - Much better game against Duke.
8. Idaho - Good show yesterday. There's lightning outside. Gotta go.
9. App State
10. NMSU
11. Ga State

I do think if it had not been for the lightening delay ULM would have won more decisively. Lost the momentum some. Idaho should change their mascot from the Vandals to the Lightening.

I agree with this one..

Tennessee is much improved. ULm giving up 31 point hurts them but if you watched ULm v Idaho you know Idaho was a few really bad drops from winning this one. USA beat a down kent st team that has lost its RB random but a good win. Georgia Southern is my sleeper.

2. Ga Southern....Ya it was Savannah State but 83-9 lol. Ga Southern is very impressive and in MY mind is a fav to win the SBC.

3. ULM.....Ya it was Idaho but a win is a win and ULM is 2-0.

4. NMSU....Nice come back on GA State. they will win some they shouldnt.

5. App State....Solid win against a FCS power. I fully expect App To handedly take care of business against a really bad Southern Miss program.

6. Ark State....Im not sold on Tennessee they are VERY young and have not proved anything. Not to mention the game wasnt really close anyhow.

7. Idaho....They stuck with ULM, but im not sold on ULM until they play more games.

8. TROY...Showed A LOT of improvement after the UAB game. More passing and first downs. Last week had a total of 272 yards. and we had 452 against Duke....I also feel UAB is underrated giving Miss State all they could handle.

9. Ga State....Stuck with NMSU and probably should have won. but baby steps.

10. ULL...Pretty much in the spot Troy was last week. Bad showing especially when ULL was talk up so much this year. Kiss the Cotton bowl good bye.

***Texas State had a bye week and I will not rank them.

#6?
I think that's way low....but everyone has their opinions. The team I saw yesterday would have beaten any team in the Belt.

I want to get a look at the Eagles against Georgia Tech and South Alabama the next two weeks to get a better judge on how they rank out SBC wise. Clearly though, these guys are better than your typical transition team.

Honestly, this is what I wanted from this season, to come out of the gate and make a statement which I feel like we did. Hopefully, we can put a big exclamation point on the end with the Tech game. After that, if we end up .500 or better, I'll be happy 04-cheers

Until then may Erk be with us.

Montana St has a good program but that post is crazy. 01-wingedeagle I would give Montana St 50/50 or odds against a couple Belt schools but the top 7 or 8 schools in the Belt would beat Montana St every time. After seeing how BYU handled Texas yesterday I would give Montana St 50/50 odds against the Longhorns right now. 05-stirthepot

Remember the game of Yahtzee....I think that is how you spell it.....anyway put all the little pieces in a tumbler and shake and spill them out......yep....so far who knows.....

As for Troy think rating us where you guys do is pretty accurate but hard to tell where it will all fall out.....We played better, with better scheme, plan, and execution than against UAB....and if we improve again in the weeks to come (forgoing the Beating we will probably take at Georgia) we might be pretty decent by the end.....but it could be a REAL long season toooooo.

If by "Most SBC teams" you mean Georgia State and maybe Idaho and NMSU, IF Montana State was having a good day...than yes.

8. App State...played a bad team, but a team that's probably better than Southern, UAPB, and Savannah State though.
9. Idaho
10. New Mexico
11. Georgia State

It is New Mexico State or NMSU. The University of New Mexico or New Mexico is a member of the Mountain West Conference. I am sure your school does not want to be called Georgia, Georgia Tech, or Georgia State.
