I was definitely rude in my last post, but that was after I was repeatedly attacked on a personal level.

I know the word ignorant technically means uneducated, but I also know people try to use it in a derogatory way. If that makes you feel better then so be it.

I would argue that starting a thread calling for FIU to be kicked out of the league would anger FIU fans. You then asked what, if anything, they brought to the table, and when inundated with facts about all of the positives that FIU has, preceded to state that basically non of those things were important.
You "asked" a question, then totally disregarded the answer because it did not fit with your preconceived notion.
Because FIU currently is bad in football, they should be kicked out of the league. That is enlightened thinking. What happens if Marshall goes through a poor three year stretch? Are you going to call your President and AD and tell them they need to pull out of CUSA because they are hurting the conference? I think not.
Very few teams in sports are able to avoid bad stretches and G5 teams are more likely to hit those stretches than are the P5 schools. Marshall is not immune, and neither is WKU.
As a final note, UConn, Baylor, Duke, UT and Stanford will be saddened to learn that women's basketball is so unimportant and those 8,000 to 12,000 fans that come to the games are just there because of Title IX.
Just because you only care about football does not mean that no one else cares about the other sports.
And as another poster said, since you and the other posters have no control over the membership of CUSA, a thread like yours has only one purpose.... to make someone mad.
Hopefully, you can do better than that.

Well said. Thank you. Btw, he misses the point completely. I understand that many people feel other teams provided more worth to C-USA than FIU or (fill in the blank). This is an acceptable point of view. But his view, and the context of his position is off-base. He came out on the attack from the beginning in a pointless rant that was meant to start a fire and done simply to harass. He misses your well-said point that he ignores any evidence that does not support his pre-conceived notions. Well done. And Thanks.

Hmm, Huntington, WV vs Miami. Not exactly a fair comparison when it comes to entertainment options in the area.

If Charlotte were on a beautiful beach with nice weather year round, I wouldn't go to our games if we sucked either.

FlyHawk... are you going to the Maryland game this weekend?

You're acting like a WVU fan, so I figured you might be more at home there.

Not a fair comparison to the amount of people to draw from, or the amount of money in the area either. Trust me, everyone bring up how poor our area is, and how we are in the middle of no where any chance they get.

You can blame it on whatever you want, but the truth is, there just isn't much interest in the FIU program. Marshall has a solid fan base that will always support our program. There is no comparison on this.

Oh how cute!

Just because I'm not kissin FIU's butt does not make me a WVU fan. I will be at the stadium considering I have season tickets.

No one ever said you had to "kiss FIU's butt". I was just pointing out that acting like an ass towards FIU reminds me of what a WVU fan would do.

Right, because there is nothing else in the area to get behind.

Marshall is your NFL. Miami has 2 professional franchises going now, Dolphins and Marlins and in a couple weeks will have two more (the Heat and Hockey Panthers) all running at the same time; not to mention the college teams. On top of that most of us are young professionals raising families. There's a reason every sport known to man wants to be here. There's just too many demands on our limited time and entertainment dollar.

So grow up or choose to live your sheltered, shut-in life; I don't care. But being ignorant about an area is no excuse for being rude.

The Florida Panthers have fans?

I kid. I have to screw with the Panthers as a Lightning fan.

Yes, Marshall is my NFL team. Your smack talk is making fun of our area for treating Marshall like an NFL team. I'm honestly not sure what you would expect me to say back to that lol. I would say that played a big part in Rakeem Cato choosing Marshall over FIU, so thanks.

As long as FIU is in the same conference as Marshall, I will cheer for you guys. Not sure what else you could expect from me.

spoken out of sheer ignorance. When's the last time you were in S. Fla, specifically the Boca and Miami campuses of the schools you're referring to.

I have spent a lot of time in South Florida. Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale was my High School. I have spent time on both campuses, and I am flying back into town to see the UTSA at FAU game this weekend.
