Those young RBs are doing a fine job so far.

Outside of injury he will start next year.

I've been skeptical of Freddi, and possibly a bit critical, but i thought he had a good game today.

Knighten is 1-1 as a starter. He's 40 of 63 passing (just over 63%) for 385 yards, two passing TD's and no picks. Has 30 rushes for 158 yards and one TD. Is he Ryan Aplin? No but he I think he's off to a good start.

It's the down field passing that hurts him.

How do you know? He hasn't done any of it that didn't look great!

It's my opinion. You don't have to agree with it.

What I wonder and I am not trying to be a smart speck but how many deep passes will he have to connect on to get rid of that rep. Sometimes no matter what a player does he is stuck. Remember on deep passes not many are connected on compared to shorter passes which he doing fine with.

RE: Game thread:stAte at Tennessee 11AM Central SEC Network
There are three reasons to throw deep.
1. To force the defense to quit crowding to open up the run.
2. To exploit a crowding defense.
3. In prayerful hope when trailing.

There are substitutes for #1. Spreading the field laterally, this is something Harsin didn't grasp until game 8.
There is a substitute for #2. If a team is piling up a number of intermediate and even short routes can have the same effect if you get the ball to a playmaker with wheels. I've seen an 80 yard shovel pass do it (thrown by Dr. Langford).
There isn't much of a substitute for #3 but that's a low percentage play.

Rumor is we've lost 3 players for the season with injuries today. Yikes.
