Week 2: Sunbelt Prediction Thread
I remember last year, with 5-6 minutes left in the 4qtr we started going for it on 4th down, because SSU kept trying to pass and going 3 & out. The 4th qtr took forever!

The hate is between the fans, the players have not met in a college game for ten years and have no additional animosity towards each other beyond what the coaches and fans can induce.

This game will be won on turnovers. Cajuns 49 and the Pups 13, yea they turn it over often after having to abandon the running game.

Monroe Newstar had their Latex beat writer on BJ's Cajun Red Zone Radio show tonight.. LOL Dude was less than enthusiastic about Techs chances...plus they haven't sold their 1K allotment of tickets... Saturday night will be fun.

Go check out Bulldogs Barks and Bytes and look at their prediction thread Z. You have some folks who are honest with themselves but there is a lot of kool aid being consumed. Many more folks thinking a 10+ win than predicting a loss. Of course there are some that attack the conference as well. And then there was the laughable prediction that there would be less than 25K at the game.

Now, you know that I don't have much love for your Cajuns...this is college sports afterall....but I do recognize a good program and I do know that ULL puts butts in the seats and for someone to predict that is someone whose level of ignorance about the opposition is breath taking. So, for one week, I will put aside my feelings for our Sunbelt brothers and please go out a stomp a mud hole in their butts and let their feelings of superiority and separation console their nightmares.

My sentiments exactly. Weird two weeks coming up. ULM fans will be huge Cajun fans this week and Cajun fans will be huge Warhawk fans next week. You take care of the Bullpuppies and maybe we can take out the Tiggers. Get both and it would be GLORIOUS!

Man an instate game and LA Tech can't sell 1000 tickets? They traveled with more than that to TXST in 2012. They had the best turnout of any fans (other then Texas Tech) that year. Of course they were ranked at the time and we almost beat them too.

Slycat, do you think y'all will travel many to Monroe this year? I was looking at the schedule this year and I think that the ULM-Texas State game this year will be HUGE for both of us. Beating Wake Forest was a must win for us, I thought, to be bowl eligible. I also think the Texas St. game could also decide which one of us gets to 7-5 with a decent chance at a bowl. I think your program is progressing nicely and you have the potential to be top dog in this conference soon. We have a lot of history in the Southland together and I hope we can turn this into a nice friendly rivalry.

RE: Week 2: Sunbelt Prediction Thread
I think a decent amount will make it. I didn't make it to ULL last year to gauge what our travel size is like for myself. I would like to see the series with ULM grow as well. I started following the SOuthland right around the time ULM was leaving but I've always enjoyed having Louisiana schools in the conference. It's not too far of a drive for our DFW fanbase so hopefully 1,000 or so show up. I wouldn't be surprised if it's more like 500.

But with stAte and ULL in San Marcos this year, ULM is the closest road game.

Can any ULL or stAte fans chime in with how TXST to their stadiums last year?

RE: Week 2: Sunbelt Prediction Thread
New Mexico State at Georgia State: Panthers win the game in front of a record crowd of 12,431 people. Real story is that Panama gets so excited about being 2-0, he decides to go streaking in downtown Atlana, where Atlanta police confuse him for a drunken UGA fan and tase him for crowd pleasure. Video of the incident is posted and viewed 300,000 times on GSUFans.com. Georgia State 31 NMSU 28

South Alabama at Kent State: Some Mobile faithful get really confused about date of Mississippi State game, show up at Ladd Peopbles. Leave impressed by USA's Camo out. It was so good...you couldn't even see them! USA 28 Kent 10

Savannah State at Georgia Southern: Savannah fans want revenge after that 4th quarter fake punt last year up by 60 points. Team gets angry and scores the games opening touchdown. Georgia Southern than scores the next 70 points. Georgia Southern 70 Savannah state 7.

Campbell at App State: Campbell got beaten up pretty good by UNC Charlotte last week. App will not allow the score comparison game to start already. App 45 Campbell 14.

Duke at Troy:
Where is the good ole "Oh No we suck again!" GIF to describe Troy's defense this year. Trojans keep it interesting at home, but the Fighting Methodists of Duke pull away late. Duke 41 Troy 28.

La Tech at UL Lafayette: North Korea launches surprise nuclear attack on US. They mistakenly confuse Ruston for Colorado Springs, and Blow Ruston to smithereens. Confused US Government is seen thanking North Korea for the help. Tech's AD claims that despite the nuclear holocaust in Ruston, they will still never schedule ULM. Cajuns 35 Tech 10.

Idaho at La Monroe: Warhawks fans heartily boo when it is announced that ULL has defeated Tech. They were really holding out hope for that sink hole opening up and swallowing both teams whole. Willie Robertson misses the game to take in another LSU game. Devastated ULM gets shocked by Idaho. Vandals 21 ULM 17.

Arkansas State at Tennessee: Arkansas State fans leave game in protest after 3rd quarter, no one told them that Neyland Stadium was actually a prison. The only people who would wear that much orange obviously are prisoners of some kind. Tennessee 35 Arkansas State 20.

If we don't score at least 60 points, I'm going to be absolutely pissed. If we don't win by 7 scores, I may go on suicide watch.

SSU is THAT bad.

No way on earth, literally NO WAY ON EARTH that La Tech beats the Cajuns.

Allow me to preface by saying that I picked you guys to win and you definitely should, but wouldn't you have said the same, or very similar, about ULM last year?

A Tech win would be far from the biggest upset of the season, probably wwouldn't be the biggest upset of the weekend. Tech absolutely could win, but I certainly wouldn't bet on them.
