Tough week for the CAA to start the year
A lot more poor performances than good ones so far

Good week so far:
- Nova should have beaten Syracuse but lost in 2OT
- Richmond beating Morehead State 25-3 at half (it's what they should be doing but are doing it)
- UNH leading Toledo 7-3 early in the 2nd

Not great but as expected for a good team
- Tribe hung around for a while but got beaten easily in the end starting the middle of the 3rd

Bad
- Delaware got crushed by Pitt 62-0
- JMU crushed by UMD 52 -7
- Stony Brook lost to Bryant
- Maine only beating Norfolk State 7-6 early in the 3rd
- Towson is tied with CCSU 7-7 to start the 3rd
- Albany is losing to Holy Cross 13-0 early in the 3rd
- Duke beating Elon 28-6 at half (not unexpected but they are not good)

At least JMU's loss will keep them from saying "well WE beat VT, what about you?"

CCSU just went up 31-27 with 36 seconds to go in the game over Towson. CCSU was 4th in the NEC preseason poll.

Maine edged out Norfolk state 10-6

Richmond crushed Morehead state

Elon was crushed by Duke (that's ok)

Albany beat Holy Cross 14-13 (good for them)

UNH down 23-14 to Toledo (preseason MAC West pick to win division) with about 10 to go in the 3rd

UNH ended up losing by 17. Albany scored all 14 points in the 4th to eek out a win.

If you'd have told me Towson would lose to Central Conn St and Maine would only score 10 points in a narrow victory over Norfolk St, I would have laughed. How are either of those things even possible?

Just checked the box score. Maine had 100 yards of TOTAL OFFENSE.

Norfolk State was the one with 100 yards. But Maine wasn't far behind with 187. What a boring game that must have been.

We should expect a 4-1 record going into the bye week. If our offense doesn't average 24 points a game over the next month, we're in trouble. Two weeks to prepare for UNH after that.

I don't intend to discount our next 4 opponents but this part of the schedule is exactly what Cluley and our offense needs.

8 or 9 wins and a playoff berth or bust.

Agree. Should be in that position. I would like to see how Stony Brook fares when Coker plays. That said, losing at home to Bryant does not bode well for them.

Actually, UNH lost by 34 points at Toledo and gave up 600+ yards, near equally split between rushing and passing.

I think this is the worst performance, stats wise, I can ever remember for UNH in FBS games - though granted some of their FBS wins have come at the lower level and this was a MAC team, not a BCS program.
