Aggies looked AWESOME at SC tonight. A lot of people were wondring if Sumlin could actually coach, or was it just Johnny FB making him look good. (Course, all good players make their coaches look great) If tonight's any indicator, Sumlin can damn sure Coach! The 'ol ball coach may be on suicide watch tonight . . . .

RE: Johnny "WHO?"
I guess they'll still be able to get away without playing defense. Must be nice!

RE: Johnny "WHO?"
over 600 yds of offense for Aggies, could have put up a couple more scores it they really wanted to. Very embarrassing for SC, 9th ranked team, at home, and first game on the SEC network, cant wait to hear what the old ball coach has to say.

RE: Johnny "WHO?"
I call it the Tee Martin effect.

Tennessee was just short of truly great with Manning, what kept them from crossing over that line was the coaches in every single clutch situation depended on Manning to make the play. Go for it on 4th and 2? Let Manning throw it.

When he graduated and left to become wealthy, they had Tee Martin who was no Manning and they had to spread the load around to make great plays and they crossed over into being a truly great team and won the national title.

Also don't discount the "great player but an *******" factor when it comes to Manziel. Just because Manziel could make great plays doesn't mean his teammates liked him, respected him, trusted him, or wanted him as their leader. It is entirely possible that TAMU won fewer games than it should have because of a toxic lockerroom. Having seen his antics in pro camp, it is entirely possible TAMU was worse for having Manziel. Remember there was a purported Patriots scouting report on Manziel that indicated he had lousy work habits and did not spend nearly enough time looking at film or studying the playbook or doing voluntary work to improve his work with the receivers.

RE: Johnny "WHO?"
The Ags looked great last night. Still need to improve on defense, but it was much better than the over thirty they gave up to Rice and 28 to Sam Houston State last year. Myles Garrett at defensive end is a beast to be reckoned with (and he is only a Fr) as well as Amani Watts at free safety (also a true Fr).

Offense has a lot of weapons. Next three weeks will be clean up mistakes time.

Hill ran the offense the way it was meant to be run where Johnny gave up on things sometimes too quickly but was athletic enough in college to make up for that.

RE: Johnny "WHO?"
Sumlin is one of the best damn coaches in the game today, period. He is an offensive genius. Don't get me wrong, Manziel was good, but I knew his numbers were inflated by the system he was in, and it's being proven. Remember, this system lead to Case Keenum having the most passing yards in a career in the NCAA, no small feat. Manziel is an average QB with good wiggle in his legs, that won't translate to the NFL, and it will be enjoyable as hell as we all watch him suffer.

Or it could be the offensive system ?
