Congrats to GSU and The Belt
One of them had a banged up knee and the other seemed to have injured his arm on that fumble

RE: Congrats to GSU and The Belt
There was no doubt that was a #funbelt game last night. Was exciting to watch. Had me rooting and cussing GaSt all at the same time. The play at QB was excellent, and lets face it, QB play can take a team a long way.

Congrats GaSt, you earned it.

RE: Congrats to GSU and The Belt
As terrible as ACU's defense was, those guys seem to pack a punch. That fumble on Neal came because he got absolutely ROCKED.

Also, I hope we see improvements in our special teams this year, or I want ACU's ST coach. Their kick coverage was fantastic all game. The only miscue they had on ST was the penalty on the 2 pt conversion attempt.

I remember a lot of fans leaving early during the USA-FAU game a couple of years ago only to miss the most thrilling comeback in the program's young history. FBS win number one and they weren't there to see it. Ha ha.

I wouldn't call it "excellent." Dink and dunk. Dink and dunk. Maybe that was to build confidence/rhythm. But a guy with his experience should have the confidence thing taken care of by now. Seemed like a great deal more than half of his passes were not "vertical." The first TD he threw was also his first vertical pass, which the receiver had to put on the breaks for. The only conclusions we can draw from this first game is that Arbuckle did well against a bad FCS defense. And well he should have.

If anything I was more impressed with the play of the receivers than the QB play.

I think my "excellent" description was a more in comparison of what I expected to see. I expected them not to come back at the end of the game, but he lead them down, and even with the penalty, continued to show life and they got the win. Bad thing for them, their schedule only gets harder from here, but my team lost our first game last year to an FCS team and we came back and won 6 games. So you never know what we really saw last night until the season gets a little older.

You mean like injury status? Hammon got banged up in the first half but came back in the 4th quarter. I don't think anyone else was hurt

Hammon = #2?

Yeah. True freshman. 175 lbs. But wow, that first step! Speed! Not gonna be an every down back but impressive

Sorry but I think Nick is starter #10 in program history and all the rest would have lost that game last night

Biggest difference between last night and the past 3 years is that your team didn't quit in the 4th quarter. That is something Miles can build off of. Arbuckle is easily the best QB you've had. He will put up points against SBC teams, but unless your D improves, it might be another long season. Congrats, and best of luck vs NMSU next week.

Exactly what I said to someone this morning. Previous Ga State teams would have quit when ACU went up by 2 scores late in the 3rd quarter. This team battled back though.

They really did play hard. Arbuckle will get better, his accuracy was inconsistent as others mentioned, but when it was time to go the pay window, he wanted the bigger check and took it by the throat and got it. The scramble and designed keeper were both insane.
Hats off to Abilene though, my gut is they stockpiled a truckload of partial qualifiers and transfers to play as hard as they did. In five years they'll be an absolute force in FCS, and if they can get the fan support up, wouldn't surprise me a bit if they're not trying to get to whatever becomes of the current FBS in 20 years.

I agree. The downside with success is the distinct possibility that their coach gets hired away, a new less-qualified coach brought in and the momentum they've established goes down the drain for a few years. We know that scenario all too well.

Before their coach is in line for the next BCS job, you may want to have him string a couple victories together first.

66% is inconsistent? LOL. Also doesnt account for receivers running the wrong patterns or turning the wrong way. He WILL get better but as compared to what we have had from 2011-2013, I am very very happy.

They are trying to form the first state-exclusive conference. Union succession will follow shortly.
