Free Tribe Sports Streaming
Bringing this out as a separate thread to make sure the word gets out.

-All home Tribe streamed sports will be streamed in HD for free (IF they are NOT already televised).

Note:
If you all buy a Chromecast for $35 and use google chrome on a laptop, you should be able to stream these in HD on your bigscreen (not Roku, etc though).

Word of caution on the chromecast..

Unless someone else has figured out a way (would love to hear it if so), I couldn't chromecast tribe games last year because the company we use spawns a new browser window that disable the toolbars, including the chromecast button.

Hoping someone knows a way around that or it has changed.

Chromecast will only cast products from companies that it has a deal with. Better to just go with an hdmi cable.

I think the $16.00 35' hdmi cable from Amazon stretched across the living room is going to be my solution.

The content streamer, Neulion, is very tricky. I've been researching and it just doesn't seem like there is a good solution to get the content streamed to a TV. So, the cable, though not elegant should be effective.

That's not accurate at all. That's only accurate with mobile devices.

You can chromecast anything that is a browser window on a PC/Mac, but you need the chromecast "button" that's in the toolbar. This is problematic with the way Neulion spawns the streaming window.

Yeah, exactly. I have a VGA cable that I use (hey, my laptop is old), but if someone figured out how to make the Neulion streamer work Chromecast would be so much easier.

I had only ever tried it from a mobile device since I have an HDMI cable for my computer. Though if you can only cast from a browser with the button installed that's still kind of correct because the browser has to be approved by Google for the button to be offered. It's not like you can just cast your entire screen in the way an HDMI cable does.

I hate to be argumentative, but chrome casting is supported in every major browser. So as long as a website isn't weird like neutrino, you can cast every website.

No worries, like I said, I've only ever used it on a mobile device so I have no authority on using it from a computer.

[attachment=5940] For all of you naysayers...here is a photo of the NSU game live. This is via Chromecast and a laptop. $35 for the device gives you a lifetime of high-def streaming of Tribe sports on your bigscreen. No monthly fee.

For Chromecast
http://www.amazon.com/Google-Chromecast-...B00DR0PDNE

for Apple TV if you primarily use Apple devices
http://www.amazon.com/Apple-MD199LL-A-TV...s=apple+tv

Or any long HDMI Cable if you have a port on your computer and dont mind wires draped across your house.

RE: Free Tribe Sports Streaming
It appears that you guys have been using Stretch Internet for a few years. Is this correct? Can you give us some feedback on it? We switched to it over the summer and so far, we hate it. No pause capability. No volume control. Lots of buffering. Unreliable. I could go on and on, but we were fairly satisfied the past 3 or 4 years and this new deal with Stretch Internet has taken us backwards.

I think the CAA sold us a bill of goods with this crap that is "Mickey Mouse". Any thoughts?

Just a slice of NYs finest...not sure where you see toast. The options to upload pics on CSN really limit the resolution and size pretty dramatically.

FYI for those of you who travel frequently, JetBlue has free DirectTV which includes NBCSN. Awesome watching Tribe pull out the win from 30000 feet...live. Now I'm posting about it. Also free from their wifi.
