You're further east. So you guys take the east, and we will head to the west to balance out this expansion.

RE: Georgia State adds Kennesaw State to 2018 Football Schedule
Conjecture at it's finest from a real pro.
Let's first address all your patting yourself on the back.
Few, if any, said KSU football flat out wouldn't happen, just that they had a loooong way to go before being FBS material. They officially announced football four years ago, they've still yet to have their first snap and are set to play in a stadium that seats 10,000 with no plans imminent for expansion.
I don't see how them playing at Georgia State changes anything.
Now regarding your comparisons to USA, GSU, ODU and Charlotte, you're making a tremendous leap. First your comparing to the timeline from first snap to FBS when you should be comparing formal announcement to first snap to FBS.
USA
Formal announcement: 2007
First season: 2009
Transition: 2011-2012
Full FBS: 2013
Georgia State
Formal announcement: 2008
First season: 2010
Transition: 2012-2013
Full FBS: 2014
ODU
Formal announcement: 2009
First season: 2011
Transition: 2013
Full FBS: 2014
Charlotte
Formal announcement: 2008
First season: 2013
Transition: 2013-2014
Full FBS: 2015
Kennesaw State
Formal announcement: 2010
First season: 2015
Transition: ???
Full FBS: ???
It's taken Kennesaw State as long to get from their announcement to first snap as it took ODU to get from their announcement to FBS, so that comparison is out the window. Unless Kennesaw can somehow figure out how to go full FBS in 2016 they also aren't matching USA or GSU's timeline to FBS. Fortunately for you and your silly conjecture, Charlotte is proof that taking a littler longer to get from announcement to first snap isn't necessarily a harbinger of things to cone, so despite taking as long as they have, maybe it is still possible for KSU to fast track to FBS, but let's not forget all four schools have been D1 for nearly forty years or more whereas KSU has been D1 since 2010. All four schools dwarf KSU in endowment and local ppopulation and have significantly higher athletic budgets and Charlotte was the only one with a remotely similar stadium situation.
Sorry FJ, the comparison just isn't there.

Pretty certain that ODU will not be Full FBS until 2015.
Charlotte also will not be Full FBS until 2016.

It appears we will have to agree to disagree. They can play there games in the Dome like Georgia State. Remember, South Alabama does not have an on campus stadium and UTSA plays in the Alamodome.
I think the difference is the others had already negotiated or were in talks with CUSA and SBC. South Alabama was already in the SBC.
I think the hold up for KSU was to see how the SBC talks with JMU and Missouri State would turn out. Since there has not been a confirmation of these two additions, it allowed KSU to enter as a candidate.
So the SBC wants to get the ball running and help KSU raise money from alumni and get their student body geeked. Therefore, game with Ga State. This also puts pressure on MSU to be ready.
So now the SBC announces in 2015, MSU, KSU and UTA Football as additions for 2018.
East
App State
Georgisa State
Georgia Southern
Kennesaw State
South Alabama
Troy
West
Arkansas State
Louisiana Lafayette
Louisiana Monroe
Missouri State (Idaho to the MWC)
Texas Arlington (NMSU to the MWC)
Texas State
Now that is a nice conference footprint.

No they are not.
CUSA championship eligible yes; just like App State and Georgia Southern, but not postseason eligible. They say they are on the same exact time table as App St and GaSo even though they got their FBS marching order a year before we did.
Even saw that posted on a football poll yesterday again.

By the way, not to say ODU, App State and GaSo couldn't play in
a post season bowl but would have to be in a situation where the
NCAA needs additional bowl eligible teams and decide to let one of
more of the three play.

From wiki, I'll grant you...
"ODU began its transition to the FBS at the conclusion of the 2012 season. The Monarchs spent 2013 as an FCS independent team. Originally, the 2014 season was to be spent as an FBS independent before being fully accepted into the C-USA with both bowl and championship eligibility. After a vote by the C-USA, it was changed so that the program would be eligible in 2014 for the conference title and a bowl berth."

I knew that article existed on Wiki and even started to point it out with my original reply, but it is wrong.
Here is an ODU article from when they were voted by CUSA to be able to win the CUSA championship:
"If the Monarchs were to win the conference championship in 2014, it's unlikely they would be eligible to accept the accompanying bid to the Liberty Bowl.
Bowl eligibility is determined by the NCAA, not conferences, and under current rules, ODU can go to a bowl only if there aren't enough eligible teams to fill all the bowl slots.
ODU becomes bowl eligible in 2015."

At any rate, KSU has next to zero chance of catching any of those four on their timeline to FBS and KSU has very little in common with any of the four athletically, financially or in surrounding population.
KSU to FBS by 2018 would be a tremendous accomplishment and not one I think they're remotely equipped to accomplish, I'm not sure they'll be a real candidate in the next decade outside of desperate times befalling a G5 conference.
