Which current vs former SBC match up will we see
Though a bowl match up will probably be much more likely, it's only a matter of time before we see a current vs former SBC match up.

Curious to see who y'all think it'll be and why

Good question and one I've thought of in the past. I never took the time though to look at the conference bowl matchups to see where such a scenario might land.

It'd be sort of like kissing your sister I guess.

Kind of surprising that their's currently NO SBC VS CUSA match up (could be wrong but pretty sure i'm not) but then again considering almost half of the current CUSA is former SBC mates, maybe it shouldn't be THAT surprising

I would imagine that it would relatively close regional match ups (FAU vs Troy in the boca raton bowl)

or maybe even La La vs UNT in the nawlins bowl

something along those lines i'd imagine

Technically Troy vs UAB is a current vs former SBC. UAB was in the SBC in the 70's

I'm sure the UNTs would love to burn a bowl game playing the Cajuns. They beat us last time we played, and now they're in C-USA, so it'd be a slam dunk in their favor.

We could call it the Hayden Fry Bowl.

I'd give pretty good odds to the former SBC side being FAU or FIU. The old guard of the SBC are all used to annual trips to south Florida, I'd imagine the recruiting coordinators at those schools, while thrilled to now get trips to Georgia, will still miss those trips to Florida.

That was before the SBC or even UAB had football.

Depends on location, there area few SBC schools that don't really recruit Florida.

Sure, which is why I only said "pretty good odds". I'm sure several SBC members have little to no interest in playing in Florida, but I'd suggest that those that do have interest in playing in Florida would put a higher priority on getting a series in Florida than the others would on playing in Tennessee, Kentucky or Texas.

A UNT vs NMSU series might be a fair bet for a non Florida series.
