We're only averaging 5.3 yards per catch through 2 games.

I like Creel but when a team moves what TWO (?) DBs to WR that speaks volumes.
I love the cliche' about why DBs are Dbs and not WRs.
Something about not making the 'all Hands' team.

Of the class that brought us Creel, Q. Jones, and Mitchell Dawkins, I was most impressed with Dawkins as a frosh. Failing to hold onto Dawkins was a big loss that no one talks about.

RE: EMU Position Review WRS
Dawkins had 2 catches for 16 yards his freshman year. One was a nice TD grab in the Ball State game, but I don't remember him having any other impact.
Creel was/is easily the best of that bunch...he's just not a number one receiver type. If he had a speedy deep threat on the other side of him, he'd be much more effective. Alas, we don't have much talent at that spot. Kenny Jones looks like a potential player though.

That TD catch was beautiful. Creel is just a Ricky Proehl type possession receiver. I feel that Dawkins has more upside from an athletic standpoint.

Pretty sure Dawkins had to give up football because of a heart condition.

Truth be told English/Creighton has had some terrible luck at WR. A dead player, heart condition, another left right after Reed's murder, and two more who got themselves into trouble last month.
It would have been impossible for English to have foreseen all of that and over recruited at WR a couple years ago to compensate for events no one could have expected.
It will take years to get the WR position up to par.

Looks like neither Jay Jones or Quincy Jones are on the roster anymore. Not too surprised. They made a stupid, costly decision.
A thin position grows even thinner.

RE: EMU Position Review WRS
-I'm guessing you're referring to Kenny Jones, and he already does play.
-I don't know why Canty doesn't play either. He's on the travel roster for tomorrow, so he'll be there. I wonder if he'll get any snaps.
-They may be redshirting Harris, as he is not on the travel roster.
8 WRs are making the trip: Creel, KJones, Allen, Gibson, Strange, Canty, Brewer, and Stone.
