RE: Tribe - 2014 NFL Edition
Lissemore suffered an ankle injury on the first play from scrimmage last weekend on what appeared to be an illegal block.

He will miss this weekend's game but avoided serious injury and is expected to start in the season opener.

I've left off our NFL ironman, Mike Leach; he's been in the NFL for 14 years (wow, I'm old). BTW, kids, learn how to longsnap...his current contract pays him over $1mil a year!

Still remember big Mike's Homecoming high jump over a Maine defender and subsequent run into the endzone for a Tribe TD, a highlight play that remains his signature at W&M.

He wasn't a snapper for us but a tough tight end and a very good punter.

Couplin apparently has made team...now listed on second team at strong safety for the Lions.

http://www.detroitlions.com/team/depth-chart.html

Just think of the guys from W&M defense that have made the NFL in the past five years or so.

Good article on Couplin, though it's from a couple of days ago; if he's now listed at #2 on the depth chart I think that's a good sign that he'll be there for the season:

This is a piece on picking Grimes for your fantasy team (I know we've all had him on our teams at least once at some point in the past few years), though they do incorrectly state he was drafted by the Jaguars:

RE: Tribe - 2014 NFL Edition
Sorry to see Derek's NFL career may be over. But he had some very good seasons as a starting
defensive back and earned some pretty good money.

A great guy who had a wonderful career at W&M...and who worked very hard to make himself an NFL prospect.

It looks like Derek Cox may get picked up by the Ravens. (Some unofficial sites are saying it's already happened).

Here's an article on the Raven's CB situation without Derek -- http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/arti...0b549d5da0

It starts out "The Ravens were down their top three cornerbacks ..." -- could be an opportunity for Derek.

Ian Rappaport tweeted it's a done deal

"The #Ravens announced they signed veteran CB Derek Cox, who has played for the #Vikings, #Chargers and #Jaguars. Will need to play Thursday"

Adrian Tracy still listed on the Cardinals roster. Let's keep our fingers crossed for him to stick with them.

According to Cowboys beat writer Clarence Hill, Cowboys have cut BW Webb.

It is listed on CBS Sports web site. Maybe he lands somewhere like the Ravens, but I'm not sure how long Cox will be there either.

Surprised they simply waive a 4th round pick after one season and an injury in preaseason. It is tough to make it in the NFL...

The Cowboy's defense is absolutely terrible and are going to get gashed by everyone this year. If he can get picked by anyone else I think he'll be in a much better environment.

RE: Tribe - 2014 NFL Edition
Final Preseason Games

Grimes: 8 carries for 33 yards and 1 catch for 11 yards. His competition, A. Blue (LSU), has 4 carries for -3 yards and 2 receptions for 26 yards. Both look to be done for the night.

Cox: 4 total tackles, 3 solo and 1 pass defensed (2nd most on the team).

Couplin III: 2 solo tackles (3rd most on the team).

Arizona v. San Diego game is in progress. Tracy 1 solo tackle.
