Big Five about to gain autonomy
Nothing groundbreaking here, but still it's an interesting story.

Quote:The NCAA board of directors will vote Thursday on a proposal that would give the five wealthiest college football conferences the ability to make rules and pass legislation without the approval of the rest of Division I schools.

The autonomy proposal is expected to pass. Here’s what you need to know about it: http://www.southbendtribune.com/sports/c...f6878.html

Has anyone heard when they'll take up the CCG deregulation proposal?

Bowlsby just gave an interview to Doug Gotlieb .
He stated that the stipends will be for all athletes.
Paying for families to attend bowl games .
Twenty one training table meals.
Unlimited snacks
Lifetime insurance and scholarships

Truly keeping up will get expensive.
Picking which initiatives to offer might get interesting.

Any schools opting for lifetime insurance is in for a hurting. I don't care if it is Texas or Alabama. They won't have enough money for that.

What do they mean by 21 training table meals?

Three meals a day, seven days a week.

Seemed like that would be obvious to have already.

But the lifetime health insurance is a money blackhole. Maybe lifetime care for lifelong injuries if needed, but no way a school can afford insurance for all athletes for their lives. After 10 to 20 years the majority of their budgets would go to paying that.
