RE: Grimes NFL Progress
It will be mini reunion with Adrian Tracy listed on the Cardinals roster. He is
#47 and listed as an OLB.weighing 246 lbs. Hopefully the position change will be work for A.T.since his size seemed to be questioned while with the NYG .

Best part of the article is the one and only (for now) commenter at the bottom...definitely a reflection of the academics

Houston released Andre Brown who was their 2nd string RB. Looks like Grimes has a good shot at taking that job.

RE: Grimes NFL Progress
That touchdown really shows what Grimes can bring to the table for an NFL team. It was a heads up, smart play that he executed perfectly. He may not be the biggest or fastest guy on the field but his fundamentals are flawless

Just another indication of what a sharp individual Jon Grimes is to be able to take in all that action & do just the right thing. Not many people can do decision making in what is measured in milliseconds.

And notice how he surveys the field to see where he is going to run before he scoops up the ball. Heads up all the way around!

RE: Grimes NFL Progress
Jon, once again, started. His 9 rushes for 42 yards (4.7 average) and 3 catches for 25 yards (8.3 average) are really promising. I should add that Jon was targeted on 3 pass attempts (obviously caught all 3) while the other Texans backs have not caught the ball well. With his special teams performance, rushing ability, and pass catching ability, it appears Jon has a good chance at earning a spot as the Texans 3rd down back and special teams play-maker.

Indeed, a Texans/Rockets/Dukes fan started a thread about Jon being a potential #2. A Tribe fan responds. A second JMU fan posts that he pulls for underdogs to wrap up post #3.

Truly captivating stuff <snicker>.

RE: Grimes NFL Progress
Jon started, again, for the Texans tonight. That all but guarantees he'll make the 53 man roster as there is no way Houston would play a practice squad guy with the presumed starters.

He's really playing well thus far...1 catch for 21 yards and averaged over 6 yards per carry until his 1-yard rushing TD.

Thanks for the shout out!

Grimes is doing great. I'm thankful Arian Foster has been out all offseason/preseason and think that Grimes, if he does not secure a starting role, is at LEAST a great 3rd down back who can run routes, pass block, and pick up yards after catch (think Shane Vereen?).
GO TRIBE
