RE: SBC basketball schedules RELEASED
It seems crazy that our conferences dates are released before our non-conference. Not thrilled our first two and last two conference games are on the road but if you're going to have a good season it you have to learn to win on the road.

We close with Georgia Southern. I have a strange feeling IF we were to beat them in the Dome in the fall. The basketball team would have bulletin board material and extra incentive to play spoiler in March.

Love the 5 game homestand. Longest road stretch is 3 games and we only play a 2 game road stretch twice.

Only thing I don't like is the no travel partners. We've got an odd road trip to Texas State one day, and then to App State three days later.

Another thing I don't like. Only one Saturday home game during football recruiting visits. Both UALR games on Thursday. Awful Awful scheduling on our behalf.

Be thankful. We should be the best ⅔ of the way across the country team for you to play three days later. You are welcome.

So, let me get this straight...we have a WHOLE TEAM of basketballers at Southern? That's that game with the bouncy balls and tiny little goal, right?

Why aren't they playing football?

You must have a team since you have a basketball schedule.
However, just like your soccer team, if the football team needs them they will get them. Maybe a future tall wide receiver.
Maybe you subconsciously have blocked it out, as we have.
This is what that type ball looks like.

That's a real thing? Why is it so orange? If it's round, it's got to be white, right?

I'm sure our AD was all over keeping them. I've wanted them gone for years and was hoping the WAC or SBC would do it for us.

LOL
Ahhh, the game that Dominique Wilkins played. I think I remember that.

In all seriousness, hopefully the SBC will help our basketball program. Unfortunately we don't bring too much to the conference right now.

Usually (NAIA) Lyon College is on the list and one to two DII instate schools and one to two instate DII for exhibition make Arkansas State's schedule. Even Williams Baptist.

I wish we'd schedule one or two DII schools for exhibition...only.

Awful. 03-puke

Bad part is that we will probably lose all of those away games.

Found this for the App fans, found the Charlotte quip rather entertaining. App is on the right path but the next couple are years will be tough.

http://oldnorthbanter.com/2014/07/31/app...-released/

"The 49ers have some senior pieces, like their point guard, but Charlotte is not all figured out just yet. App State could steal one here at Halton Arena."
