RE: Which coaches lose their jobs this year?
I wonder what the expectations are of Monken at USM for this season. The Golden Eagle faithful have suffered through the most horrible back to back seasons that I can remember anyone ever going through. He inherited a team that was pretty depleted of talent, so Monken may get another pass this season, but another 0 or 1 win season may be too much for him to survive.

Pretty sure at 1 million a year we dont have probs finding another very qualified replacement.

I will tell you this, it better be one hell of a sweet deal to get HUD to leave.

I'm thinking the same Z. I'm hoping that Hud is on something of a personal mission with the Cajun program and is just not yet ready to leave it to someone else to complete.

Do you mean you hope we beat Tech or PJ gets fired because the latter is kinda messed up...

I hope we beat Tech, but yeah I wouldn't cheer for PJ to be fired...

...unless...

We go 12-0 this year, Coach Fritz gets hired at a P5 school, PJ gets canned at GT, and we re-hire PJ to bring back the flex to the Boro.

He's a good guy, but he doesn't put enough discipline into the program. Every year they lose good players due to arrests. Even this year they lost a few on defense... They just can't seems to put it all together. And fall short every year... I think this year they have a less than expected year and they let him go.

A lot of Georgia fans feel this way.

LOL......

Unless he loses to Tech 3 years in a row, Richt will be at Georgia as long as he wants to be. If you think anything else, you listen to far too much sports talk radio.

As he pointed out at the SEC media days, they lose players because their disciplinary standards are higher than average, then people say they don't have enough discipline....01-wingedeagle

....ok, I just defended UGAg - I need to shower and go to confession.

He would have to have a losing season or some kinda NCAA violation.

Rich Rod Had both and they dragged their feet.
Michigan really doesn't want to be seen as a football factory.

I would have fired him when he cried at an alumni dinner.
Playing some sappy song while he did it .
His violation was minor too much practice time .

Hoke is a good recruiter and leans on his coordinators .
Borgess was predictable except against OSU last year.
Replacing him should help need a MSU win soon.
MSU and UM was voted the top conference rivalry bye fans.

Yep the SEC thinks they had an NFL team in NO named for them.

Dude should've been gone long ago. That stretch where they were mutilated by Florida every year was just embarrassing. Also his lack of coaching skills REALLY showed in the last minute of that championship game against Alabama.

The way they played in that game, and getting to that game, showed they had what it took to win a NC.

Richt earned himself much of his respect back with that season.

If Dana Holgerson doesn't start producing, I think you'll see him jettisoned out of Morgantown. He's been downright dismal there (no complaints here). WVU fans are crowing on and on about their recruiting, but it sure hasn't helped them the past few years.03-lmfao

He's on the SUPER hot seat. My worry is that if they do fire him, Doc Holliday could be an extremely attractive replacement.

Dont know if its a personal mission or not. There are about 8 mid majors nationwide that have the potential to do great things. UL is one of those schools. This a dynamic place to raise a family, etc. Hud knows a good thing when hes got it. Trust me, this aint Ruston or Hattiesburg. Lol!
It better be extremely sweet for him to roll outta here

He's 5-7 against Florida. He has a 70% winning percentage.

Who are they going to get? I'm all for UGA firing Richt as it will send the program into a tail spin for years, but it makes no sense. If he does what he has accomplished at UGA at almost any other school, they'd build a statue of him.

HUD would have taken the Tulane job if his plan was to bail on the first train outta here. Instead he used it to get a huge raise. It will take perfect situation for him to leave, he has had 2 raises since that one, new facilities, increased budget. Pretty much has gotten everything he has asked for and is long around here. His wife and family love it here, will be hard to leave. If he continues success, he will be able to leverage another offer into another raise.

That stretch that started over a decade before he got there? You know they had lost 10 of the last 11 against the Gators when he took over?

And regarding the SECCG, was he the one that caught the ball in bounds with no timeouts remaining? And I don't blame the kid for catching it, nor do I blame that on coaching. The kid has been taught his entire life to catch the ball, in the heat of the moment in the biggest game of his life(and the chance to be the hero that gets the team to an even bigger game if he finds the endzone) he made a poor football decision,

The guy is not Saban or Meyer, but you are so far off base, in over 100 years of football, they have twenty 10 win seasons, in a thirteen year tenure he has eight of those twenty.

He has to be one of the most undervalued coaches in America.

Spike... the... ball... I still don't get that. Or why a corner on 4th and forever as the 4th closes doesn't have "knock the ball down" already ingrained in his brain.

The SECCG I don't agree, they nearly got there and an understandable lapse in judgement by the WR was all that stopped them from having one more shot at the endzone.

I'm assuming the other play you're referencing is Auburn last year and I completely agree, but Grantham's defense had made blown coverages and silly mistakes a calling card by that point.

I like to watch the Dawgs with my dad when I'm not in the Boro for MT games, but we talk(he talks and I listen mostly) about all the ones we don't watch together.
