UAB has had three winning seasons since going 1a. Roddy was on two of those. We have not had a winning season since. Our coaches can point to a 1st round Draft choice and NFL all pro while recruiting receivers. We have not had a winning season since he left but we continue to sign very good receivers

If you don't "love" him, why are you bitching about him not sending his money to UAB.

Did I ask that he send money? He could do a lot of good for Uab without ever donating a penny. Up to this point I haven't been made aware of him doing anything.

I'm really confused. If, according to you, he says dumb things on twitter (my god, what a sin), then isn't it a good thing he doesn't actively associate himself with UAB.

If it isn't mentioned on Blazertalk, it didn't happen.

As a Falcons fan, I root for him to catch every pass thrown his way and out run every defender. I do the same thing for Julio Jones, and I hate ua's football team. As a UAB fan and alum, White comes across as reluctant to state he went to UAB. It's fine if he feels that way and it's fine if I feel the way I do. It's a personal opinion. I'm not finna go poison the guys yard, hang a UAB flag on his door in the middle of the night, or yell "UAB" before I sucka punch him and run.

To me this argument is the same as getting upset because someone won't wear green to a UAB game. People don't get their info about a fan from what he wears to a game. If they want to know where I went to school, they can ask me or watch who I'm cheering for. UAB is not being slighted because someone doesn't wear green to a UAB game. Just like UAB isn't being slighted because White chooses to say his high school more or instead of where he played in college.

First word problems keep a message board active during the off season. As far as Graeme McDowell, when he does personal interviews, he doesn't hesitate to say he went to UAB if asked. He carries UAB club covers. Joe Webb is Mr. UAB.

and not that long ago some posters here trashed GMac because they thought he didn't do anything for UAB. Just because its not in the paper doesn't mean someone ignores their school or does not donate. a lot of people don't want that kind of stuff made public because it encourages scum to pester them for money.

Once again, my opinion.

Roddy White is probably a bigger Duke basketball fan than an anything UAB fan...but who cares? Sure, sometimes he gives off a "I did more for UAB than they ever did me" sort of vibe (IMO), but I don't make that big of a deal over it. He doesn't want to be a UAB evangelist? Fine.

We will continue exclaiming him as a UAB draft pick, and he can keep making us look better by taking care of his own career. It works itself out. Especially if you are both a Falcons fan and UAB fan.

It is definitely an interesting thought. Some could argue that it might be better for UAB not to have a close association with someone that would post something like this on Twitter:

Lol. The guys in this thread acting high and mighty will definitely be bitching and moaning the next time roddy does something stupid or slights UAB. The only thing that keeps this board going is people crying about slights against UAB, real or perceived, and guys wanna act like Roddy is some sort of angel and huge UAB advocate. Hypocritical.

I don't think anyone claims he is an advocate for UAB but the anti-rw stuff is just foolish
