AP sent out this advisory about when they will be running their conference previews. Notice which conference is missing?

To help you with your planning, the following team and conference preview stories are planned ahead of the college football season.
Aug. 4: Southeastern Conference, Pac-12 Conference.
Aug. 5: Big Ten Conference, Atlantic Coast Conference.
Aug. 6: Big 12 Conference, Mountain West Conference, American Athletic Conference.
Aug. 7: Sun Belt Conference, Conference USA.
Individual team previews:
Aug. 11: SEC-West, Pac-12 North teams.
Aug. 12: SEC-East, Pac-12 South, Big Ten-East teams.
Aug. 13: ACC-Coastal, Big 12, Big Ten-West teams.
Aug. 14: ACC-Atlantic teams, Notre Dame.

Not surprising Dave, ever since you and I left the MAC beat there is little push from the drive by media to promote the MAC's quality players and teams. Clearly Elton isn't going to do it.


By the way, for those who missed Dave's article today in the Oklahoma paper he now writes for, you missed a true gem around the recent Tony Dungy comments, outstanding article my friend !!!!!

I plan to call AP tomorrow to get clarification.

Yeah, this week AP has moved media days stories from the MAC, SBC, CUSA, ACC, SEC, PAC-12 and Big 12.

3 possibilities:
1. The writer is very confused - since NoILL repeated as MACC champs in 2011-2012 and CMU repeated in 2006-2007 AND (and this is the bigger problem) Miami(OH) did not win consecutive MACC games (they lost the 2004 MACC to Toledo).
2. He meant "the first eastern division school to win consecutive divisional championships since Miami(Ohio)". I think this is likely because Miami(OH) didn't win consecutive MACCs anyway (they won in 2003, they lost in 2004).
3. He's doing a lot of drugs.
