RE: How Will We Do in 2014
Here's what I'm thinking, it's a little bit of a stretch, but I see great potential in getting wins versus Southern Mississippi, Georgia Southern, Idaho, Georgia State, and of course Campbell and Liberty.

The other two home games versus USA and ULM are not out of the realm of possibility. If we can pack the Rock, it could give the team the boost needed to pull off those upsets.

Realistically, 8 wins is my upper limit.

Here's my stab at it:

@ Michigan LOSS - Lightning will not strike twice.
Campbell WIN - Apps win and win big.
@ Southern Mississippi WIN - First win against any FBS team since Michigan.
@ Georgia Southern WIN - Apps kick off rivalry against longtime conference rival with a win.
South Alabama WIN - Apps win in a close one.*
Liberty WIN - Flames find out this is not last year's Appalachian State team
@ Troy WIN - Apps win a close one on the road.*
Georgia State WIN - Apps knock off the other GSU.
UL Monroe WIN - Warhawks get introduced to Black Saturday the hard way.*
Arkansas State LOSS - Red Wolves take them to the woodshed.
Louisiana Lafayette LOSS - Cajuns do the same.
Idaho WIN - Apps cap off season with a win.

* tossup

Projected Record: 9-3 (6-2 in SBC) with a potential to be 6-6 (3-5 SBC). Overall, I see an improvement from last season.

Wow, 9-3. That would be a fantastic first Sun Belt season.
Hope it does happen. Getting close to football season.

Those are important games to make a solid record this year.
Tired of hearing and thinking about last season.

Same here, I need this season to start so I don't think or read about last season.

I'm kind of sick and tired of reading about it, the 4-8.

Agree, gets so old hearing about it. Still baffled as to how we lost some games, but nothing will change it.

Worse losing to GaSo than to three teams.

With 1 game left, I wanted to go back and see how we did based on my unrealistic projections. With the very likely possibility of 7 wins on the year, I was pretty close. But we get 7, not by how I would've thought it. We did it the hard way by taking down 3 traditionally strong SBC teams on the road. I never would have guessed beating ULL and stAte at their place.

Here's to ending a great year with a 7 game win streak.
