I think Roger Angell is a great writer. He's now 93 and being given a special baseball writer's award -- well deserved. Tom Verducci wrote this article, "The Passion of Roger Angell" for SI. Great read.

In the article is mentioned an amazing catch and throw by Willie Mays in his rookie season. Also attached is a rare pamphlet [attachment=5682] written by Paul Metcalf that tries to describe Willie's throw in great detail. It's one of those things that you would have to see to believe, and if you saw it, as one writer did, you'd have to see him do it again to really believe it.
