Week 1 Odds ( the still way too early version )
At least according to these yahoos.

Favorites:
Ga State -5.5 over Abilene Christian ( Bring it State. Abilene was 'spirited' versus NMSU last year ).

Underdogs:
La Monroe +5 to Wake Forest
Troy +1 to UAB ( I think Troy wins )
App +33.5 to Michigan
Idaho +33.5 to Florida
Ga Southern +23 to NC State

No odds yet for:
NMSU vs. Cal Poly
ASU vs. Montana State
Tx State vs. UAPB ( should be a tune-up )
La Lafayette vs. Southern ( should be a tune-up )

unless we (GS) cough the ball up 4-5 times like we did against UNC, we beat that spread. I'm looking for GS to win this game (of course I can GS winning every game 03-wink )

Shouldn't be any lines for the FCS games...

UAB always worries me... They always play us hard! It's at UAB and the first game with their new coach... We have no films to go off of. Difficult to prepaid for... Coach Clark knows us well with his time at USA.

I expect a close hard fought game.

Attendance wise will be pretty good. Probably in the 28-30k range... Troy travels very well to Uab probably 7-8k there. And Uab will show up to see their new team with new coach. First year McGee was there it had a announced 28k in attendance with Troy.

I think he is referring to GSU (FBS) vs. Abilene Christian (FCS). Typically there would not be a line available for that game.

There are always lines on A-State games vs FCS, they just show up later in the week of the game.

As long as there is one FBS team involved... someone will always put out a line the week of the game.

I go to most all games so yes I'll be there...

Right now UAB is the bigger rival in football... USA hasn't beaten us in football yet so that hate isn't there yet. In all other sports USA is our big rival. I'm sure USA will eventually be our biggest rival... But for now Uab is it. Lots of hate towards one another in football.

The App and Georgia Southern lines look like good games to take the points.

You don't think Michigan is going to try and embarrass App?

I wouldn't touch that line.

Troy is the best bet out of those.

I would. It will probably be like that for a few games. I don't know if it was an FCS to FBS thing last season, a Sun Belt thing, a State thing last season, or a combination, but we were 8-3-1 against the spread last season.

I think ULM beats Wake Forest again, especially with the game being at home.

Interesting link. For reference some one our board had the early Vegas line our Boston College at -11. This site is in the same ball park of -12.5

I don't get the Troy-UAB spread. UAB won 2 games last year against Northwestern State and a horrible FIU, and then finish the year by getting mugged by a winless Southern Miss to end their 54 game losing streak 62-27. This looks like easy money, rivalry or not.

So basically if all the Sun Belt teams win we will get unprecedented national attention.
