The USM that has been playing since 1912? Are we supposed to feel bad about that?

The jealously dripping from this thread is palpable. You guys act like this is just any old P5 school. There are about 5-7 legendary football programs out there, none of which do home/home series with non-local, non-P5 schools, and Penn State is one of them.

The funny thing is, every single one of your coaches would host PSU's coaches at a camp if given the opportunity, and if they did you would find a way to let us know what a great idea it is. However, once again, GSU's intangibles gave us an opportunity that you didn't get, so all you can do is crap on it.

Carry on with the hate...I love it.

Lol, and WE are delusional. This is the funniest post I've read here since I joined.

Wow, are you giving too much credit to State or what! Do you really mean to say that State is better than Valdosta State, West Georgia or even Fort Valley? Kennesaw hasn't played a second of official game time yet and I'll bet even they are better than State.

Denial isn't a river in Egypt.

Never heard of so many that claim they cannot compete.
Have to invite in a team that seems to make their knees weak to help
with their recruiting, even though it does the opposite.
Claims they cannot recruit the same players, but SBC teams can,
and a Marshall poster said they had recruited 43 of the 4* within
the last few years. Doubt that, but anywhere close would be impressive.
Just claiming that you do not belong in the SBC does no good,
most would want you to prove it before you move on. You have
to take the bull by the horns and have faith in what you can do before
you can get anything great done.

Penn State fans say their OOC away schedule is set until 2024. All I can find is their 5 away games have been set until 2018 then 2020, 2022, & 2024. So we may have asked, but, if what PS fans say is true, there might not have been room at the inn.

Penn State's fall from grace has been pretty large. I'm mildly surprised a few of the MAC schools haven't requested home and homes yet.

As much as I loathe GA State, I would argue that they are clearly the #4 team in the state. No way Mercer or Valdosta are better than GA State.

You are delusional if you think one day of camp gets you a home game from Penn State. Then again, delusion seems to be a theme around here.

Then I guess it depends on whether or not the money is worth playing a game. But saying that you guys only got this game because of the camp, when you are taking a normal G5 pay day for such a game, and Penn State schedules G5 teams all the time is a little off base. These guys have been playing 3 G5 schools a year the last few seasons.

Of course, no one thought Arkansas State could get Miami to come to Jonesboro either.

Wow you guys like to twist words....

"...saying that you guys only got this game because of the camp..."

Who said that? We got this game because our coach knows how to foster relationships. He took Indiana State to Penn State when he was the coach there, he let them come to his camp here - THAT is how you build relationships. Maybe next time a Georgia boy wants to leave PSU and head back home, his coach will put in a good word for us - RELATIONSHIPS. So, we are a two-bit team that hasn't proven anything, yet we've played Alabama twice already. Why? Relationships. So yeah, the camp wasn't a bad idea because it helped build relationships.

That's what small-minded G5 fans don't understand about the camp. Just because you are FBS you want to claim to be on the same level as the P5 - newsflash, you aren't. The difference between GSU fans and the rest of the SBC is that we are very well aware of our place in the world, without decades of "look at me" chest-beating to skew our perspective. I swear this entire conference is just like the UGA fan base - you think you are something that you never were, and every year is "the year" you are going to break through.

As for PSU playing G5 teams, other than UCF (who I don't really consider "southern" in the "south of the Mason-Dixon Line" sense), who have they played from the South? Oh, and even though UCF technically got a home/home, their return game is is Ireland - not Orlando.
