Marshall seems quite happy with the move to C-USA, but after the latest round of defections you can't reasonably argue that it's a "step up"in terms of overall strength in football as they expected.......

I don't know exC... Marshall and Rice are the teams to beat. North Texas, UTSA, Middle Tennessee, WKU, and to a certain extent, FAU are pretty solid programs... La Tech was kind of a disappointment for all of the crowing that some of the posters did...what seems to be hurting us is the unknowns of Charlotte and ODU, the poor performance of FIU, the downfall of USM, and the years of mediocrity of UTEP and UAB

The big question is how will these teams fare OOC? If Marshall runs the table (sorry guys, not trying to start anything, but we should IMHO) and we can get some signature wins over some beatable P5 teams, then we'll be okay...

As far as labeling it a true "step up" from the MAC... that remains to be seen. Too many variables right now. But I would say that both of us are still ahead of the SunBelt (even though they think that they are equal to the Mountain West) 03-lmfao

Just look at last year, they beat a now Big 10 Maryland. A P5 school.

The entire MAC has only beat two P5 schools in bowl games in 39 years.
JMO but it seems Marshall is in a good place right now.

You do realize that Marshall is apart of that bowl history, don't you?

the opportunity to play a P5 team in a bowl does not come around very often.

Yea we've been to something like 10 bowls in the last 11 years and the only P5 team we've ever played was Florida State in the Orange Bowl, a 1 in a 1000 shot. And I'm sure if they had a choice they would've dumped us for a P5 school.

"How do ya like them apples MARSHALL fans" that was intended to be like "hey how do you like CUSA now marshall" right?
Because that article listen CUSA bellow the MAC and Marshall left.

I was simply saying I think they love it, they're doing just fine in it.
& mentioned the P5 win because just like you've all stated y'all never get to play one. I was implying CUSA is better..

Yes. I was poking fun at our long lost friends. Toledo and Marshall had quite the rivalry back in their MAC days. Can't lie, I miss those days.
