Rice a Top 25 Program...and more?
Here are some quotes from Coach Bailiff. We may have discussed these before, but with the World Cup completed and the Rockets lacking free agent chutzpah, I thought that this would pass a bit of time until August 4th.

Quote:"We have to start thinking about trying to break into (the new college football playoff)," said Bailiff, who has led the Owls to a 17-10 record the past two seasons.

Quote:His long-term goal is for Rice to not only finish consistently among the top universities in graduation rates for football players but to finish among the top 25 in football rankings.

He's not looking for Rice to become Alabama. He's looking for Rice to become Stanford or Northwestern.

So what is your over/under of Rice breaking into the the TOP 25?

If we were not losing so much in the defensive backfield next year, I would think that 2015 could be the year with a SR QB, a SR Covington&Mouch, and mature play makers.

Also as a bonus:
Quote:Bailiff doesn't expect any major changes to the offensive scheme, although he envisions using a speedy receiver in the slot to cause matchup problems similar to Mississippi State's Jameon Lewis, who burned the Owls for 220 yards in the Liberty Bowl.

Based on this comment, I don't think that Darrion Pollard will be back on defense in 2014. And I expect one of the Walter twins to see some snaps there.
