Impressive skill set. His ability to create shots and pass would work nicely here

Highlights

Tough nose, but cerebral fella...Very hard worker on the boards and gaining post position, and really finishes through plays. High major offers/interest since his freshman year...

Like the pattern that our offer additions seem to be getting stronger in level as the summer progresses...Will be interesting to see how these two slots play out.

Vrankovic isn't a leaper, but he's big with excellent hands and touch. He also does what a lot of bigs don't do- keep the ball high. Not sure if we have any shot at him, but he would thrive at the CAA level.

I like this recent trend of recruiting PFs that are 220lbs and up. We need to get out of the business of being pushed around in the post.

Agreed. I'll sacrifice some athleticism and shooting skill for a couple of scholarships dedicated to guys like this that will keep us from being bullied down low.

RE: 2015 Men's Basketball Recruiting Thread
We must have a dozen or more offers out right now for the two scholarship slots. I guess it's "first come, first serve" in awarding the two.

It will be extremely interesting how this all pans out by the September early-commitment signing
date.

Anyone have any idea how Tony and staff would like it to turn out?

Until we get word on guys scheduling official visits, we won't have an idea how serious any of these recruits are. The only recruit mentioned with scheduling an official visit is Matt Holba. Using an official visit on W&M means the Tribe are in serious consideration. I believe a player is allowed 5 officials, so a recruit must choose carefully. Unknown what other official visits are scheduled or in the works. Also, a recruit generally will let coaches know if they are targeting the early period or holding out until after their senior year.

We made Charles Thomas final 8 schools. Pretty stiff competition.

" DC Premier PF Charlie Thomas has a final list of Wisconsin, Vanderbilt, Rutgers, LaSalle, DePaul, William & mary, Towson, and George Mason"

Not sure if we didn't have much choice, but that seems like an awful weekend for a visit. No home football game.

Of the four schools listed, only W&M has a strong reputation for academics - don't know whether that is good or bad in this case.

Actually, Mercer, Samford, and Loyola-MD are top 10 regional colleges...similar to Elon and JMU in academic status. Fine academic schools.

RE: 2015 Men's Basketball Recruiting Thread
Not previously mentioned, but Seacat is from the same AAU program as Connor Burchfield. I wonder if that relationship benefits the Tribe.

I don't mind Seacat as a recruit. He is athletic with a ridiculous wingspan. Plays a little tentative in the small sample size I saw. Lots of potential and his best basketball is probably ahead of him.

I just hope it doesn't stop us from recruiting some of these other PF targets that, IMO, are more impressive. I really like the tenacity & skillset of Evan Boudreaux. I like the athleticism and size of Charles Thomas IV. Who knows? They may both be out of reach.

Adding an inside scorer and weapon like Boudreaux to go with this teams guard scoring and depth would put us perennially near the top of the CAA. Adding Thomas would give us as athletic and physical an inside player as any team carries in the CAA. I think either would step in and contribute as a freshman.

RE: 2015 Men's Basketball Recruiting Thread
Had hoped Pritchett, who played on the same AAU and HS team, was going to be a package deal with Seacat, before Pritchett committed to Davidson.
Agree with the comments on Seacat.

Couldn't read the last article ($) on Boudreaux and his planned official/unofficials, but assume we were not in that group. Type of player that opposing teams/fans hate, but loved by whomever he plays for. Really has a broad skill set regardless of the tweener heighth.

Charlie Thomas appears to be the inside PF/banger we simply have not had. His list obviously went up another level after his AAU team won the Vegas Fab 48 Invitational in July...Nice to still be on the list, and would immediately change the program's inside presence.

Fortunately, every one on the offer list is a positive, just a matter if the staff are able to get a Matt Holba to grab the ring before the slot is gone. Don't see us taking two at the SF/Wing position.

Agreed. If we can somehow swing Holba and any of the known PFs that we offered, it would be a very successful recruiting period. Holba plus Boudreaux /Thomas would be a home run.

I agree the class will either be 2 PF or a PF & SF. The only guard we had a offer out to just committed to VCU.

Judging by Omar's instagram picture he posted, looks like SF Noah Bramlage is visiting this weekend.
