Maybe I'm not understanding the list correctly? Nick Saban and Bobby Petrino in the top 20?

They're tough at Bama. And Bobby Petrino is Bobby Petrino.

Motorcycle engines tend to run hot, so his seat will always be warm as long as he owns one.

RE: Coaches Hot Seat Ranking
Dennis Franchione has done a good job transitioning our program from FCS to FBS I was skeptical at first but unless things go bad quickly he deserves to serve out his contract.

Why are NMSU and Idaho in the hotseat, and not Georgia State?

All three schools had first year HC's last year.

He had less to work with, but I believe he is on the hot seat. Especially with GaSt bringing a new AD coming on board. Most AD's want to hire "their guy".

if he has a 1-2 win season, I don't see him sticking around with a new AD on board.

We are used to it.

I knew Freeze well enough to know he REALLY had as his goal to be head coach at Ole Miss but I figured no way he could screw up Ole Miss bad enough to get fired in 2011 and besides OM wouldn't hire him on the basis of one season, they'd go after some big names, and then settle for some safe middle of the road pick with several years experience in CUSA, MWC or a semi-well known assistant.

Blew that one.

Figured Gus would want some time before going back to the SEC and besides no way Chizik was inept enough to get fired for one bad year.

Blew that one.

Harsin, figured Pete would hang around a couple more years unless he got an itch for something like UCLA or USC or Oregon. Then when he didn't figured someone would watch film of AState under Harsin and pass on him and just pass it off as the buyout was too high.

Blew that one.

I'm going to try again an declare that TAMU will do a Tee Martin and actually get better without Johnny Football and there is no way Anderson is headed to College Station and TCU will improve and no way he goes to Fort Worth.

What the hell do other school's fans talk about between the end of the season and the bowl game? Coach searches keep us pretty busy.

No idea. That is a little odd.
Maybe if your coaches had allowed some other school to come
in and cherry pick recruits the author might have been less
critical.

RE: Coaches Hot Seat Ranking
Martin had a single year as HC ( to which he was abruptly promoted without a staff or prep last year ),
and hasn't even had the benefit of his first recruiting class ( this year ) yet.

Plus at a place where the cognizant ( how every many that may be ) are aware of the time ( and fortune )
it takes at NMSU...

I know they have to fill the pre-season with something,
but putting him high on the 'Hot Seat' list doesn't elevate my opinion of theirs.

Ultimately, it's the fans and regents that determine the seat temperature.

I hope we find out this year with a little of anxiety that after the great year he had someone might be serious about his buyout.
