RE: An update on hoops, and football
Speaking of Rynearson I wouldn't be surprised to see a new SB in the next 1-2 years.

Also have heard rumors of wanting to add on to the team building to include coaches offices and weight room but that may be more wishful thinking than firm plans.

Hope you are right!!!

And I hope they do it right and spend a couple million. A mediocre SB isn't much better then a bad SB.

Any word on a new press box???? I assume a new press box is a higher priority than football offices/weight room.

As I've mentioned, I've heard some folks with connections in the Convo say they think new lights for 2015.

The AD had the turf on her shovel for 2014 and now has time to plan for 2015 projects. I don't know how EMU budgets for capital projects of this magnitude and whether they have to have $ there for the current fiscal year (e.g., if they want to do new lights before 6/30/2015). E.g., can EMU borrow say 1-2M from the EMU Foundation (or financial institutions) and pledge say road game guarantees as collateral?

This is O/T but I heard of the fund raising for Pease.

Detnews is reporting Robert Bolden is transferring to EMU. Reportedly as a QB, which is what he was at Penn State prior to transferring to LSU and being moved to WR.

I'd wager this is who emu steve was referring to as a transfer. Heard rumblings of the possibility a few months ago but nothing since. I know people wanted him to come here when he was able to leave PSU.

RE: An update on hoops, and football
Does this means we are going to the bowl game?

Does this means we could go 10-4 this season?

Does this means the losing streak will come to a halt?

Does means we will compete for the MAC championship this season?

Will the EMU fan base avg over 10,000 per home game?

Will this board add more people?

Will NuPudge come back to this board? He's MIA since English left and we didn't land Baber?

Will EMUSteve share with us his source for EMU insiders information?

I wouldn't call quoting a tweet "reporting." I have a LSU source saying Central still a possibility. EMU athletic department is dead silent as of right now.

Party pooper......

My $$$$ says he's coming to EMU.

We have a better football upside this season and a QB would put us over a .500 this year.

Great deal. Felt he should have transferred here after PSU.

Yes, you would have won your wager.

And he must complete his degree. When I checked the rumor I remember that this September will be his 5th academic year out of h.s.

If he doesn't complete his degree, he can not transfer at the D-I level (i.e., couldn't sit out and play as a 6th season athlete).

Who is the other 4 star QB?

Good question.

Brogan is the future of this program but I really didn't think he was ready last year.

Is he ready this year? I don't know how his spring went.

There aren't any developed backups to Roback at this time with any Div I game experience. I'll wait and see if Bolden arrives here. We have some talented QBs on the roster-we recruited a former true freshmen who was committed to Wake Forest.

Boldin doesn't fix the biggest problem with this team which is overall defense.

I do like CC's approach: He is going to have a number of QBs at various levels of experience (e.g., Roback, Bolden) and year-in-school class. We'll also have to see how the skill sets of Roback, Bolden, Bell, etc. mesh and whether he can utilize all of them.

Until Bolden arrives, isn't Roback the only QB with real game experience and Roback is still pretty inexperienced (1/2 season isn't a whole lot of experience).

If Roback gets hurt, and without Bolden, EMU would have to go with a redshirt frosh and that usually is bad news for a coach...

You are correct that Roback is the only one with game experience but here's a point to consider how many years ago has it been since Bolden actually played in a game at QB? I don't have a problem with Bolden being a backup but I doubt he's being brought in for that role. I guess we'll see how the competition shakes out. I say IF because we need to see whether Boldin has his degree and has graduated.

I agree that CC will play a LOT of things by ear next month. No one, including CC, knows how this baby will play out.

Ditto on the other side of the ball. the Morgan State coaches can toss last year's game tapes.

"What you see isn't what you'll get in 2014..." (in case any Morgan State coaches are reading this tread.

Guarantee!!

Amen but we have the talent there it just wasn't being played. The defense will be the most improved area on the field, Looking forward to seeing the kids play without English in there heads, everyone being stronger, smarter, playing in a defense that fix their skill-sets..

This side of the ball (defense) will decides if we go to a bowl game.
