That's just so wrong.
I think Justin Anderson might have something to say about your claims with 74 solo and 132 total tackles
Per the sun belt website:
Quote:David Mayo, a senior linebacker from Scappoose, Ore., was named All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention following the 2013 season. The Texas State student-athlete led the Sun Belt and ranked 12th in the country in solo tackles per game with 6.0. Mayo also grabbed four interceptions to rank second in the conference.

I don't go around pulling this crap out of a hat. I wouldn't have posted if I hadn't read it.
Anderson may have had 74 but you guys also had 13 games, making his average 5.69 per game.
Mayo missed 2 games due to injury so only played in 10 games.

So maybe that's why he only got honorable mention. If he would have 10 tackled I. The first game then have a season ending injury, he would avg 10 tackles a game, doesn't mean he deserved an award.

Dang 99, it's average SOLO tackles not total tackles. I didn't say he deserved any award I said just getting honorable mention is a diss for the guy. Tell me there were 6 better LBs in the SBC last year. 2...ok, 4? questionable, but not 6.
Quote:ranked 13th nationally and fourth among Sun Belt Conference leaders in total tackles with an average of 8.9 per game … averaged 10.0 tackles in conference only games to rank third among league leaders … also ranked second among league leaders in interceptions with four … tallied a career-high 16 tackles against Troy … his 16 stops were the second-highest total in the SBC and the most by a Texas State player in a single game
Missing 2 games does not detract from what he did the rest of the season. Not saying he's the best but reading his numbers tells me he was a lot better than the HM nod the coaches gave.
You seem to be taking issue with TXST having some good players

Actually saying honorable mention a wrong and a diss is saying he deserved the honor of this in front of him. That's exactly what you are saying. Not saying he didn't so why don't you post the numbers of the guy in front of him.

Are you serious?
If he led the SBC in avg solo tackles (with national rank)
he was 4th in TT
he was 3rd in avg total tackles per game (with national rank)
he was 2nd in INT's
What other stats do you want to measure him and say he didn't deserve better? Those 4 categories, alone, puts him no less than 2nd team.
I did check stats. I think Anderson got robbed of 1st team. Orakpo should not have been 1st team.
2nd team, other LBs
Blakes
12 games
44 solo (avg 3.67 game)
77 total (avg 6.41 game)
4 sacks, no INTs
Williams
12 games
44 solo (avg 3.67 game)
105 total (avg 8.75 game)
.5 sacks
no INTs
Then there's Mayo
10 games
60 solo (avg 6 game)
89 total (avg 8.9 game)
1 sack
4 INTs
If you can't see it, fine. I'm leaving this here. I have an All Star game to watch #Goldy #TXST

I said I wasn't saying he didnt deserve it but don't sit here and say you weren't opining for it. People get snubbed all the time for different reasons. You should be happy, I'm sure the young man is fully motivated.
