Eastern Michigan would have been kicked out of FBS and the MAC years ago except for their every other year agreement with Pepsi to buy enough tickets to keep them at 15,000 home attendance every other year. Believe that was one reason the NCAA put a minimum of $5 on tickets. There was a proposal to make it $10 I believe, not sure that it passed. Their main problem at EMU seems to be, according to them, that they are only a few miles from the Big House.

Great looking field. Not too crowded with junk stuff. The crimson end zones really set it off.

Probably most of us here in the Sun Belt could use that excuse regarding our proximity to So and So University.

This. Idaho's been using Wazzu as a scapegoat ever since we were in the same conference.

EMU's stadium is seriously just 6 miles down the street from The Big House... you don't even have to turn. Sucks for them...

How far is Idaho from Eastern Washington?
What is it @ 7 or 12 miles?

RE: New Color Football Fields Coming This Fall
I think the gray field should be ok. Any dull color should not have the same effect as the bright ones do.

My friends used to hate me back in the day. On playstation college footaball 2001(???) I used to play with the Florida gators in their all blue unis on Boise State's field. It was funny listening to them complain, and I would tell them they could not beat me on the blue turf. LOL Good times. I was all in their heads. If they made me play with Boise, the results probably would not be the same.

Many have said that the NCAA has a rule concerning field color, but
that evidently was not passed, but uniform color in relation to field was:

http://www.mlive.com/eagles/index.ssf/20...t_emu.html

Check out these existing ones, especially the red and grey one:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_col...eld_colors

Never been a rule about color of the field.

However, any school wanting to go to a non-green field have to go through Boise to get it. Boise licenses schools to have other colors for their turf. It's a free license but you will endure some legal problems if you don't go through them for approval.
