No shot at beating Navy in September, because we play them in November :)

Yea. Was just thinking of g5 upsets in general.

We actually can't upset ncst in September either. Fine. GS over gt. And if we are to believe the other posters on here then any win over another SBC team.

I think ULM may even be a small favorite over Wake. We'll see. I think ULM also has a chance at upsetting Kentucky too. I like GS over NC State too. I don't see NC State being very good.

Didn't ULM beat Wake last year? If so it seems if Wake wins then it would be an upset.

Yes, ULM beat Wake at Wake. I think there is a good chance ULM will be favored at home. Not sure though. Anytime an SBC team beats an ACC team it is good though.

Early line is WF -6 -120 @ ULM

Cajuns over Boise State would be a minor upset.

stAte over Utah State is a minor upset as well.

App over Southern Miss. Probably not an upset, but it would probably put USM fans on suicide watch.

If that S. Al/Miss State game is at Starksville, then it'd definitely be an upset.

And when I say G5 September football upsets....it could be FCS over a G5 or a G5 over a P5.

Mississippi State is playing USA in Mobile this year.

State is one of the most physical teams in the SEC,DL may be the best.

Yet the SoMiss -vs- App State game was listed as one of the ten worst out of conference games. Makes you wonder how many bloggers write articles designed as journalism.

Yes, we're aware that the Miss State we got in Mobile is supposed be a 'good' Miss State team. Or OL will be ready for their DL.

Thought South Carolina had the best Offensive Line in the SEC.

Ask us at the end of the year. We play Miss State and South Carolina this year.

That looks like a candidate. Here's why

1) App is a moveup in year one of transition. They didn't do well last year in FCS either. Now some App folks argue that the coach redshirted virtually everyone in an attempt to maintain depth for this year, but its not unfair to base this year's prediction based upon last year's results. The consensus is that App will be in the bottom 10 FBS teams in the country next year. You may surprise, but it would be a surprise if you did.

2) USM has been a complete dumpster fire the last two years, winning only one game. They played plenty of bad teams too during that stretch, and lost to all but UAB one out of two times. They haven't won a game at home since... November 2011.

I get that you don't think this is one of the 10 worst OOC games, but just looking at the consensus predictions.....its not a reach to put that game on the list.

By the way, its much more of an insult to USM, a program that feels entitled to be seen as the best of the G5, than for a first year transitional program not even eligible for a bowl. WKU went 0-12. USA went 2-11. Only UTSA did 'okay' but they didn't really play a FBS schedule (they played four non-FBS teams, two transitioning programs, and the bottom two teams in FBS). You will be playing six teams that were FBS bowl eligible.

Post away. Where would you rank the App-USM game as far as a OOC FBS matchup

Most bloggers are going to see a 4 win FCS program last year moving up to FBS and playing a team that's won one game in the last 2 seasons. The fact is...until App does something to prove people wrong, no one without a real knowledge of the SBC is going to see that an attractive game.

Yes, unfortunately that was 7 years ago. The average High School recruit was 11 when that game was played.

No shot at beating Navy in September, because we play them in November :)

Maybe you can run on the field during one of their other games.

I get it. However, App was much better at the end of the year than their record suggested:

Yes...but wins over Wofford and Western Carolina are not exactly going to cause others to start trembling in fear.

Bottom line is this: A team losing 7 games vs. FCS won't be respected in FBS until it proves something. Hattiesburg would be a great place to prove something. I'll be rooting like hell for App.
