Football game times?
Anyone know when the rest of the game times will be announced? I feel like in years past they come out around this time, but I may be making that up.

Do they have optional workouts until summer practice starts? When is summer practice?

RE: Football game times?
I am waiting for the outcry from some of our older fans when they realize the UR game is a night game and the chance of it being cold that time of year. One night game about 5-6 years ago was played on a might and it got quite chilly and the complaining the following monday night at the QB Club meetings was amazing . At the Zable renvation meeting a Mr Driscoll asked what start times did people preferred and it was close to 50/50 for a 1:30 start vs. 3:30 and the oldest voted the earliest start, imagine that .

No doubt, but with the exception of a thinned out student draw, I can see this night approaching the electricity of the JMU national semi game. National TV, possible major implication for league champion, long time rivalry/tradition with an opposing fan base who will show up early en masse to tailgate. I purchased four extra tickets for family as soon as tickets went on sale yesterday because of interest and concern that tics will be gone quick. Whiskey's good for staying warm and keeping arthur away!!! Will be a great day and night. Can't imagine there are too many other situations in the country as unique where two schools permeate within families like this.....Go Tribe!

At that same meeting, Mr Driscoll also stated that, except for the Homecoming Game, ALL game start times were dictated by the TV Networks, regardless of fan preference.

Football game times?
I remember as a student the night games were much better attended. I think the Richmond one is going to be a great atmosphere.

RE: Football game times?
Many of the attendees, somewhere around 75%, at the Stadium renovation meeting held in the Person Room a couple of weeks ago, were older fans and, surprisingly, they were far and away in favor of the later starts, including night games.

Several mentioned to Terry Driscoll that the 3:30 and 7 PM games increased attendance,
allowing many families with children who were occupied the first part of Saturday with their kids'
events to attend later games when those activities were over. The 1 PM starts were impossible for many younger families to attend.

Every time this topic comes up this is my stance. On the whole, the night games consistently have a better turnout and atmosphere. We can get into a lot of little arguments about why this start time, why that start time - but in the end shouldn't it be the goal to get the best attendance and atmosphere possible?

Agree 100%. Though truth be told I'm perfectly okay with 5 of 6 home game start times being determined by TV.

I'm not going to complain about that either 03-wink. When we have a choice though, night games should be the default.

I know that at the stadium talks there was discussion of 6:00 vs. 7:00. I don't have major heartburn over 6:00, but I just think that the night games are better.

Great post and I do agree about the possibility of the atmosphere being electric.
Hopefully we will have The CAA crown wrapped up and this be for bragging rights !

RE: Football game times?
I can tell you that the most frequent complaints heard by the people who ran Tribal Fever regarded game times. The students love the night games. Not only do far more people show up but they're all "better hydrated" due to the day's worth of tailgating.
