Was surprised Georgia Southern is only playing 2 teams of the 12 that had winning records last year.

Well, we didn't have a losing record our first year in the SBC, so that's not exactly an auto win or easy game for the Eagles.

Welcome to the Sun Belt.

Somehow, the SBC finished ahead of the MAC, CUSA, & MWC last year in BCS standings... 01-wingedeagle

Kind of a skewed and misleading result being that we had 4 non-losing (6-6) conference teams that count as a non-winning opponent for his purposes.

Being 5-7 last year in college football isn't a good indicator of how you will finish this year...or even 4-8, or 8-4.

A lot of games are one or two plays either way and too much turn over to predict off last years records

Well the article make the sunbelt look like a bad conference but if the article was reversed and stated teams with losing records we would not have as many teams on the list because most of our teams were bowl eligible at 6-6.

Littered with SBC teams

This is what your record looks like when your schedule is balanced. Winning records are decided by one game in many cases. If you do not have the luxury of two cup cake OOC games every year your win lose record looks much like the Sun Belts, particularly when your OOC schedule is littered with the SEC. Let's not forget that the Sun Belt is made of teams who, for the most part, found success at the lower level and have recently moved up. Either previous success in the most competitive region in the country or your simply located in the region, should be a sign of good things to come. Find a region with poor results on the field and you'll find few teams transitioning to the highest level. We're in a good spot and positioned well as a conference with a mix of winners and start-ups.
