someone should be fired for putting the plan in action without the funding. Then paying for it with whoring yourself out.

From what I've heard, the plan was put into action with funding, then unexpected additional funding comes in, and the plan is scaled up, and then more unexpected funding, so it gets scaled up again.

I'm only guessing that the idea was to go ahead and scale up as much as was feasible all at one time to get economies of scale. Perhaps seeing what the Cajuns are doing played into it. And all that may have changed priorities since the game was scheduled.

If you characterize something of that sort as a fire-able offense you can, and if it doesn't work out I might even agree with you. But I'm not sure that a case can't be made for something like that. All speculation though.

Program wise, we're pretty much putting ourselves into a cold war style arms race with the Cajuns. The big issue here is that we don't have the capital or the heavy hitter donors that they do. Mohajir was brought in specifically because we were given feedback that our facilities and inability to fundraise were really hurting us. His specialty is fund raising.

The biggest difference between the Cajuns and ASU at this point is they have a bunch more money that can be thrown into sports like softball and baseball, while we're basically throwing what we have at football, and using the momentum from that to let the Olympics catch up.

I understand the sentiment but with so few P5's willing to come to our stadiums I would never want to move a game like this!

I 100% agree with you. Mississippi State comes to Mobile for a game with the Jaguars on Sept. 13. That is worth volumes for the school, community, alumni, and sidewalk fans.

Opening up on the road with USC and coming home the next week to play Missouri is a great way to start the season. Arkansas State is getting paid $1.3 million in 2015 to open up at USC. That should help pay some bills. The home game the following week against Missouri is a reward to the fans. An SEC opponent at home is not easy to pull off. I would keep the game at home.

The Missouri game would be televised nationally and this is the kind of game the Sun Belt needs for its TV package with ESPN.

Agree it would be good for the conference and ArkState fan to have the game on campus.

Make them play you at home in basketball if you have to move the football game to St. Louis.
