Elfrid Payton
EP has received an invitation to sit in the Green Room in NYC for the NBA draft on June 26.

This invitation is a pretty solid indicator that Elfrid will be a lottery pick.

His game is well suited for the NBA

good size
strong
gets in the paint
defends
rebounds
gets to the ft line

Improve his shooting (3s-ft) and he will be a NBA all star one day

A few of our stupid fans used Payton as a point on how bad our recruiting was

He'll never be as famous as Tony Mitchell.

RE: Elfrid Payton
I don't think it's so much that he's a lottery pick but that he's a first round pick. Considering when he declared they were saying at the end of the first round to the second round, and now they are talking about the possibility of a top 10-12 pick is pretty impressive over a three month span. There are plenty of scorers who go into the NBA and don't play because they their mind set is all offense and can't/won't play defense consistently. With all the talk about Elfrid's lack of outside shooting early on, his form is good and that's something you can improve. One thing NBA teams can be sure of is he'll be able to play right away because he's willing to go out and play defense for 48 minutes. I think he has the skills to take it to the rim and facilitate. One thing Elfrid's not is a "Prima donna".

Elfrid was selected 10th overall by the 76ers and was traded shortly thereafter Orlando, where he was likely to be picked at #12.

RE: Elfrid Payton
Orlando traded two number ones to Philly for EP. Top ten pick, worth two number ones, and of course lottery. Nothing to good for a good young man. Very special, very nice and plays ball really well.

Congrats! I was kinda of hoping he would be back for the rivalry development sake, but in another way, glad he is not. Good for the Belt to almost have a lottery pick.

Yep that is about right, haha.....

Payton will be the real deal in the NBA and I really liked the comparisons to Gary Payton, I think that was spot on!

Did not enjoy seeing all the highlights of him blowing by our guards last season, haha....Have to say will miss playing the Cajuns in basketball, hopefully we can get your guys on our non conf. schedule down the road along with USA...Those are 2 series I hope we continue....
