I would hope so. The Sun Belt for example really needs for Ga. Southern to be playing App. St. every year.

A schedule without App would be incomplete. We could go undefeated and it wouldn't even feel the same.

RE: SunBelt FB - Consensus Picks
With no team added this year I guess for 2015 the home/home schedule will just flip, so we will play the same 8 teams next year that we are playing this year.

By 2016 it should change, either will a 12th team added by then or redrawing what 2 teams we will not play.

I think at a minimum however we should play Troy, App. St. and Ga. St. every year.

If we stay healthy it should be a cakewalk for Louisiana.

Could be a cakewalk, or ....

Thomas is more pro-style than Browning so that should be interesting to see. I fully expect to see Thomas as the starter this season. He has about 6,000 career yards so he knows how to throw the ball, just gotta improve the TD-interception ratio.

I view the Warhawks in the 4th-5th place slot in the conference at this point.

Browning had certain intangibles that can't be taught in leadership and performing under pressure for his teammates. Broadway has shown to have that it factor as well, winning a bowl game with a broken arm.

Nothing I've read about Thomas suggest that he has anything close to that in him, bucking competition at his two previous stops. Let's see if he can hold up under pressure when things go south, or if he folds like a cheap chair after the first signs of trouble.

Thomas does have wins over Wake Forest and La Tech to his credit, getting 212 and 257 yards passing respectively against teams built more along the lines of Sun Belt teams. But he also had a total of one TD pass and 3 interceptions in those games. He's a talent but what will he do in the Sun Belt? He'll get tested early against Wake Forest, Idaho, and LSU as his first three games. We should come out 2-1 since he's already familiar with WF (at Monroe) and we should dispose of Idaho.

What I find interesting is the number of players who've graduated from one college with eligibility remaining and transfer to another school where they can play immediately. Linebacker RJ Young came to ULM after graduating from Arizona 3 years ago with two years of eligibility left and became an all-SBC player. I'm sure we're not the only one with that kind of story.
