Because you don't count the day the games start. On Friday, there are no more days left before the season starts; as it's the next day. (and for some the season starts earlier.)

On Friday it will be 1 day before Saturday. Today is 74 days until Saturday.

At 6 PM Friday there is under a day till game time and a lot of games start at noon. You either get it or you don't, I guess.

GreatAppSt has been doing this for years and so have I (8 at least). Just how it's done.

Do you consider it to be 4 days before the weekend (right now) or 3?

That's fine. Everybody can do what they want, or how they want. Gameday is excluded in this case and for the countdown we go by GreatApps rules >>>>>>
