Exclamation Sun Belt 2014 Football Predictions by Athlon
I always have trouble with understanding Athlon football
predictions.

http://athlonsports.com/college-football...redictions

They don't think much of the new guys doing anything.
"Georgia Southern and Appalachian State headline four newcomers into the Sun Belt for 2014. The Eagles finished the 2013 season by beating Florida in the Swamp and catch a break in scheduling by not playing UL Lafayette and Arkansas State. New coach Willie Fritz was one of the top hires of the offseason.

Appalachian State played better at the end of 2013, which was the first year under the direction of Scott Satterfield. The Mountaineers are a solid program and will eventually be a consistent winner in the Sun Belt. With running back Marcus Cox leading the way, Appalachian State could match last year’s win total."

Well they didn't call us the Panthers, lol. Not a bad write-up, though I hope (and honestly think) we can do a little better than 4-8. Can't wait for football.

I just don't see the Cajuns ending the season at number 60. They may not break top 25, but I don't see them that low.

I also don't see 8 of the 11 teams being ranked in the 100+ spot.

NMSU, Idaho, & Georgia State? Reasonable based on history.
I could even understand App State & Georgia Southern (transition teams).
But the ULM, Troy, & Texas State? I just don't see it.

I fully expect us to be ranked this low in any poll. And quite frankly, I could care less. This is the part of the pre-season that gets on my nerves because now everybody starts coming out with their polls, and all the fans reply with their same replies. Can we just snap the damn ball already??? haha

I'm okay with it but I still believe we go 12-0! Seriously they don't spend much time researching Belt teams. Right now everyone is 0-0.

Yeah, they spent little time researching that article. Their whole, Arkansas State has won a conference championship and had a coaching change each of the last 3 years, but should experience typical transition issues this year was odd.

If USA goes 7-1 in league, they will not be ranked in the 80's,

If we all knew what was going to happen we wouldn't
need to play the season.

Didn't USA lose their QB this year? After last year I will not take that team lightly. ASU is becoming coaching mill U. You guys keep losing them but reloading with another good coach. Not a bad position to be in. What I wanted to explain to the newbies is not be discouraged by these preseason rankings. They do very little research on Belt team. Of course none of you guys have a chance against the Ragin Cajuns!02-13-banana

USA played two QB's last year. Last year's starter graduated, but the other QB does have game experience.
