There really should be more CUSA/SBC games. Ga. Southern would love to play some old foes from CUSA again.

Well Middle Tennessee is who I was referring to. Would love to see Ga. Southern and Middle Tenn play again.

I could see that series happening; there's history between our programs and we tend to recruit Georgia a lot.

About the only other teams we have played in the past are WKU (lost in a semifinal game one year and I think played them 2-3 times in regular season) and ODU (2 very exciting games in the last 5 years). MTSU is the team we have the most history with from CUSA.

We have history with marshall as well as ECU.

There has been a great deal of discussion about television contracts etc.....and rightfully so.....but any pending deal is also based on perception......I think Ark St fan (might have been others) that with ASU and UL with good number of fans or even a comparison of rural Troy and ULM over a Memphis and someone....the point is that prior to finalizing contracts perception and viewership is going to have a great deal to do with its final form.....If the SBC clearly puts the CUSA in its rear over the next year or two on the field and has better record and maybe even ranked team on TV then that will not bode well for CUSA....much like Alabama or Auburn avoid us or LSU avoids the UL's or ULM or Ark avoids State.....there is nothing to gain......After contracts finalized maybe more games will show up on schedule till then not going to happen.

FIU - first "FBS" victory for Georgia Southern. Beat them in 2003 and 2004.

MTSU - "The Hugo Bowl". I believe the 2nd ever non-Saturday ESPN football game back in 1989. Several games played in the 80's and 90's.

Old Dominion - two of the most exciting playoff games I've ever seen. Their coach is a douche and hates us.

WKU - handful of games, including a playoff match up. Owe them one.

Marshall - hate 'em. A few years together in the SoCon.

We have history with marshall as well as ECU.

Would be good games for both of us to have with Marshall, especially since they seem to be at the top of CUSA right now. Doc, their coach, has really been getting some good recruits the last few years. They still cannot recruit well in their own state most of the time, or they just do not want anyone.

We need to keep old SBC comrades apart in the regular season for a few years. That way any potential bowl game matchups will have some distance behind them.

I know, but that's why I mentioned it...Marshall was being ignored, in a sense, as a team with history against GaSo.

Will be interesting to see if y'all can schedule with ECU or Marshall moving forward. No reason why it can't happen, unless they just skeered now (ECU poster responding in 3...2...1....)

GaSo and Marshall played but only six times. Not played in 18 years.
Marshall has a 4-2 record against GaSo I hate to say. Would be good to at least even up that record. Would be a good game would think.
App State played Marshall 22 times. Appalachian has a 14-8 record against Marshall, with some losses after Marshall went FBS, but hasn't played in 12 years. Lot of dislike by both schools toward Marshall. Could mention some things, but will pass.
