RE: Who is your UNC?
I am curious if other states have something like Texas's Permanent University Fund that smaller schools have to compete against as well as compete against them being a powerhouse football brand?

Wow! There's no constitutional provision like that in Georgia, but tradition and legacy have led to similar financial distribution. The way I see it, those schools like Texas, LSU, Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn St, etc. are part of an exclusive club with closed membership. Because schools with younger traditions can't be part of their club, our challenge is to be the best we can be as we navigate the prejudice and discrimination we face.

funny. when the PUF was set up it mostly amounted to lot of empty land in west texas. a-m didnt really want anything from it but gave in and took a smaller percentage..later on oil and gas were found and produced and it has generated billions of dollars for the two school systems..
