A few years back because they got lots of press about that losing streak.

Ole Bobby Petrino brought more press last season than anything on the field SUn Belt teams have accomplished...Doubt many fans remember Louisiana's season last year in football....Now if they had knocked off Kansas St. than yea but once again the SB didn't get it done in the non conf. to have a team get ranked or bring national recognition to the conf. on the field...

I'll see your motorcycle wrecker with one Malzahn.

We got plenty of press off of a coaching hire too. But the expiration date on that sort of recognition is about one year. Maybe a little more if he actually wins a championship while there.

A note

Technically WKU is still a league member until July 1. They have track athletes competing in the NCAA Championships under the Sun Belt Banner in a couple weeks. That being said, some WKU fans might want to note that most of their fans have already made the CUSA move.

Linking everyone to the CUSA board is sort of foolish considering this thread is about CUSA. Though I would at the same time recommend that both sides take note that we can probably discuss this without turning it into a bash fest.

My apologies, Chief. Just trying to help out a good Topper fan.

That list over there is in chronological order, and there's nowhere near enough room for the history that accumulates in half a century (couldn't even get to the Newcastle Knights and Newcastle Jets from my decade in Oz), hence the ellipses (..). Since I grew up in Central Ohio, I was cheering for the Reds and Buckeyes before I even went to college, at a MAC school, but I live in northeast Ohio now, and so cheer for the local team, which is in the MAC.

As far as why a fan of a MAC school is involved in a discussion started by another MAC fan of another MAC school that compared CUSA and Sunbelt in the Sunbelt forum, rather than in the conference realignment forum ... because that's where it was posted.

Fixed the reference to the numbers, I got the two different WKU fans angry at people noticing the narrowing gap between the Sunbelt and CUSA confused.

Using WKUYG's approach of toting how many schools on each side have so many wins or more, using all the information there, except not counting FCS wins (because that's silly) and using the average 2012/2013 instead of cherry picking 2013:

9+ win teams: 0 CUSA, 2 SBC
8+ win teams: 2 CUSA, 2 SBC
7+ win teams: 7 CUSA, 3 SBC
6+ win teams: 8 CUSA, 3 SBC

... its only when you get down into the .600 and .500 records that CUSA does better than the SBC.

So the argument that the Sunbelt supporters have made in this thread that the gap has narrowed even seemed to be supported by the facts that were presented to contradict that argument ... once the biased cherry picking of the original analysis is corrected for.
