On that note, I'd like to belatedly congratulate my high school alma mater Bishop McGuinness of Kernersville, NC, one of only three private high schools in the NCHSAA*, on winning their ninth straight girls basketball state championship a few months back - a feat they have accomplished every year since moving to the otherwise public school league.

*Unlike similar organizations in most other states, the NCHSAA does not include private schools as a general rule. The only exception are the three largest Catholic schools.

Not a matter of convenience or inconvenience, it was a matter of being on topic.

Liberty has been actively pursuing membership for more than a year. The presidents have met multiple times without extending an invitation in that time frame.

The presidents by declining to invite have sent a message that Liberty is not on the agenda and while I'm sure another such thread will emerge in late November or December, right now Liberty is not a Sun Belt topic.

And apparently neither are UMass football, NMSU all sports or Missouri State. I think we can all live with that position. Unless something of 3rd party value pops up giving credence to our candidacy then I suspect you won't hear much from us for awhile.

Thanks to all of the Mods who have managed the discussions well the past few months. I suspect we shall meet up again somewhere down the road.

I would say the third party needs to be pretty significant. Benson or a SB president.
