What a novel concept. The AD's office, who has a compliance sector, knows what they're talking about regarding APR rule changes.

I only knew about this back in February.

And then last July.

On the subject of bad news, I heard two GSU football players were arrested.

Yeah. Drugs. 1 of them had already been released from the team a few months ago though.

weed. not drugs. drugs are made. weed is just a plant. it just grows like that. and should you so happen to light it on fire, and inhale the smoke, there happen to be some side affects. sleepy, happy, hungry.

true- not much of a problem for the consumer but people are killed and crimes committed in the selling and distribution and the acquiring of the money to buy it..the gov. should let you grow your own if you want..

For 2013-14 postseason the cutoff is 900.
For 2014-15 postseason the cutoff is 930.

"Beginning with 2012-13 championships, teams must earn a minimum 900 four-year APR or a 930 average over the most recent two years to be eligible to participate. For 2014-15 championships, teams must earn a 930 four-year average APR or a 940 average over the most recent two years to participate in championships. In 2015-16 and beyond, teams must earn a four-year APR of 930 to compete in championships."

You are correct, my mistake. Not sure why I had 920 in my mind. Sorry about that.

Agreed. In reality it isn't THAT much of a penalty. Gonna take Fox a few years to get the talent level up to where it needs to be. I'm just glad the Capel experiment is over and I can go back to attending games again without being PO'd the entire time.

Good stuff Thomas. I put the blame for this squarely on the athletic administration. Players just don't show up and get start attending classes. They have to be cleared by someone. A coach will recruit with the understanding of who they can get in.

Exceptions are made. Charlotte only had a 928, but we're still post season eligible because the only year we fell below the standard was Major's first year when there were some transfers and guys kicked off the team. That year excluded, we averaged a 955. Since we showed academic growth, the NCAA just slapped up with a practice time reduction instead of a post season ban.

Admin and coaches are at fault, neither is given a pass.
