Georgia State Could Be Getting New Digs
http://www.ajc.com/news/sports/college/g...oot/nfq8R/

Could be a new football stadium and moving Panthersville downtown along with student housing and a retail district.

Could be huge for GaSt and good for Summerhill. Hope it works out! Would be a great way to keep the Olympic and Braves history alive.

I thought this was already an option you guys were looking into? This isn't really new news is it, or am I missing something in the article?

Never any public information about it. Lots of speculation and fan talk about what SHOULD happen. Nothing ever firm from the University.

Because it just went from message board fodder to confirmation. Huge difference.

It's a couple of blocks. Walkable if you feel like a nice little walk, but we already run shuttles back and forth for parking in the Blue lot over there so not too much infrastructure needed if we go that route.

Maybe a mile. Really it'd just be a continuation of campus with the state Capitol and crossing I-20 being the only hiccups.

Sounds as if you would have a track around your football stadium if you get it.
Paying $75,551.17 for each game played in the dome this year, thought
some had said you paid nothing.

This might make me seem petty but this comment was hysterical to me.

Quote:Becker said he would like a new stadium, as opposed to playing in the Georgia Dome or the new downtown stadium that will open in 2017, because he wants to provide “the real college football experience.

Its publlic and has moved from speculation and dreams to an actual proposal and developers and partner.

Um...why?

Look at all of our arguments in the past about the sterility of the experience you get at the Dome....and all the shouts from GaSt were nothing but "LALALALA NFL CLASS FACILITY."
