Pain train finds itself tonight. Carson Baranick finds himself tonight and 2 hits state... UL 7 state 0 final. No excuses tonight Chiefsfan.

As usually is the case, Robe gives state props. Actually Robe and Jaybird gush about how good stAte is on the post game show. Class acts, both of them.

If the season ended today the Sun Belt tourney would see the winner of Pod 1 (Louisiana, Western Kentucky, Texas-Arlington, and Georgia St.) vs. the winner of pod 2 (Arkansas St., Texas St., South Alabama and Troy) for the championship.

There were roughly an extra 200 that didn't buy tickets who just parked out in right field and watched from there. That would make it the largest crowd in our history by far.

Its a shame we don't count tickets out there...I'm eager to erase the stigma that comes with an NAIA school bringing your largest baseball crowd.

As for tonight. We laid an egg. A really large Ostrich egg. Two more errors didn't help, but once we fell behind Barenik started cruising and our offense started helping him out by hacking at everything.

That's actually the Baranik Cajun fans saw early in the year. He is capable of throwing very well, but has struggled a couple of innngs a game for the last couple of weeks,

Sir, two nights in a row you were beaten by a superior team. Its not hard to admit it if its true.

Well duh.

You're going to sweep us, which obviously proves you guys are superior. All I care about is getting in the opposite SBC bracket from you guys and hoping that one day you are not superior to everyone else is Championship Sunday.

The Cajun team I saw today is National Championship Caliber.

Not trying to stir up trouble.I'm TRULY NOT.Did you say 1,009 is your second largest crowd? Not that outstanding in my opinion.
I will not bore you with our record crowd stats except to say we own the state record of over 6,000.I'm sure several SBC schools(Cajun-over 10,000 ?) could blow away any WKU record.Again just an observation.

For us, 1,009 is a gigantic crowd. No ASU Sport outside of football draws well. Getting a capacity plus crowd out to watch a baseball game here is amazing.

You've got to understand that the baseball team hasn't made an NCAA Regional in 20 years, hell, the simple fact that we are in 2nd place in league with 7 games left is unheard of. We've never given our fans an opportunity to show up. Getting this many for the Cajuns proves there are baseball fans amongst our fan base...we just have to do something to make them want to show up.

Things going the Panthers way down the stretch. If WKU wins tomorrow, and we win the ULM series next weekend to take a 1-2 game lead over the warhawks with them facing UL the final weekend I like our chances to get in. Now, if only we could get to the 7 seed and avoid UL. TSU is no cakewalk either though.

Chief, any chance your coach will put up some type of screen to block the outfield view. Freeloaders have no place in NCAA athletics

ps unless you are ULM

The other day Cajun fans were discussing on Ragin Pagin some of our largest attendance numbers. I believe it was in excess of 7,000 but was with the old seating arrangement at The Tigue. Couldn't hit that number now.

Didn't look it up but LSUA&MC probably owns the largest home attendance number as Alex Box seats 10,000+. There have also been some large crowds to watch the occasional college baseball game that has been played at Zephyr Field in Metairie.
