Remain tied for 2nd with red hot Texas State, with the tiebreaker.

ULM came back and beat WKU tonight, so The Toppers are now two back of the 2-3 spots.

Congrats to Astate for winning today. They found a way to win today and hang on to 2nd place in the SBC. The Cajuns are still trying to get their bullpen straightened out and couldn't get the job done.

The Cajuns rpi remains in the top 7 at this time and we just need to keep winning series.

Not to question Robicheaux, but several of us at the game were confused why you guys chose to stick with a guy in the 7th and the 8th who had thrown less than an inning all year, and didn't try your luck with Bazzar, who looked nasty.

It seemed odd given how good his stuff is. I know we are very weak against lefty pitching...but the guy who was in wasn't throwing strikes.

I not sure which pitcher you are talking about. Both RHP Matt Plitt and LHP Freshman Riley Cooper have both pitched a good bit, unless they put a pitcher in that I missed by listening on the radio. You have me curious who it was?.

One thing is your bullpen shouldn't walk 3 and hit another batter in one inning, then in the next inning give up a run on a wild pitch, especially for a top 5 team.

I was glad that Carson Baranik was able to go the distance in game 2 because lately I cringe when we have to go to the pen because they have been having trouble throwing strikes and hanging on to leads.

Robichaux is not too happy right now after hearing his post game talk, especially after being an ex-pitcher himself

The Stats we had on Cooper indicated he had never thrown. Obviously it was a misprint.

Its a shame we couldn't field this weekend. Friday would have been a very different game if our fielders didn't get a case of the yips. We did get what I wanted though. Out of the weekend with a 2 game edge on WKU for 4th, and with the understanding that we can beat you guys should we meet again in Mobile.

I just hope we didn't peak too early, because both the hitting and pitching have been struggling, but are finding ways to win, like on the opposing teams errors.

Now, Baranik pitched an awesome game and so did Wallace.

Your stats sound off. Cooper pitched in one of the midweek games against SELa the other day. He hasn't been used much, but he definitely has some innings to his credit and he had some good stuff during the midweek. Most likely why he was given a chance today. It was our more experienced relievers, Hicks and Plitt, who blew the lead if I remember correctly. Bazar started on Wednesday, and while he only threw about 50 pitches that day, I'm sure the staff doesn't want to overuse him, so that's why you only saw him in a closing role today.

Cooper hadn't thrown alot, 6.1 innings and Plitt 39, but you are right, I would have went with Bazar with a 2.60 ERA after 27.2 innings, unless the coaching staff thought the Bazar may have thrown enough during the week.

Louisiana at #8 RPI right now and Ark. St. up to #49. I think Louisiana is still right in the running for a national seed. At 43-7 it would be a shame if they aren't right in the mix. 6 games left and if Louisiana can go 5-1 over the last 6 and finish 48-8 I think they get a national seed, assuming they make the championship game of the Sun Belt tourney.

Ark. St. is still on the fringes. I think realistically Ark. St. needs to get their RPI in the lower 40s to have a real shot, unless of course they win the tourney.

Sun Belt this year is possibly a 1 bid league, with a chance for 2 (possibly Ark. St. or someone other than Louisiana winning the tourney).

We've got a shot, but it involves winning out and making a tourney run. Still have Ole Miss at home in a week that can boost RPI.

I am putting most of our eggs in the Win the tourney basket...but for now we're still listed as a bubble team by several major sites.

We competed with one of he best teams in the nation. Pleasantly surprised. Raffo still moving players around. I don't remember not having a set line-up by this time.

Its what you expect when your best hitter gets hurt for the season 7 games in, best reliever gets hurt preseason, and one of your best returning players falls off the face of the earth.

Its a very young lineup, and we're very lefty heavy. I'm not surprised he's rotating a lot.

Sitting at 67 with 7 games left if TXST can beat UT and win out I wonder what our chances would be.

Don't hold your breath on this. In 2010 we had 41 wins, won the regular season but lost the tourney. Our guys sat waiting on selection day and ended up being the first team out (IOW - 65th team). A lot of the predictors were on our side thinking we should have gone but it didn't happen.
Unless we win the tournament our chances are slim and none.

We have no margin for error. NONE! That's why we are melting down on Ragin Pagin.com right now after yesterdays loss. Unfortunately, and please take this for what its worth, unfortunately, the SBC is a very weak conference this year. We cannot afford to lose any games like we did yesterday. A state is a fine team, no doubt. We still needed to sweep.

App's coach got tossed today and is automatically suspended one game per SoCon rules. What's the Sun Belt's rules on a coach getting ejected.
Sun Belt had that rule in prior years but dropped it this year. It was felt by the coaches that it gave other conferences without the rule an advantage against Belt teams.
