This.

Out AD has been doing a great job of getting winnable "pay day" games.

Easy. Just because you caught a perfect storm against a UF program in their worst season in 40 years doesn't mean these power conference school games are now good bet wins. One win against an FBS team ever.

Ole Miss' incredible recruiting class from 13' will be seniors then. I don't expect that game to be close regardless of what Fritz does in the next two years.

If its an "incredible" recruiting class anyone that remains "incredible" will be playing in the NFL not as a senior on the field that day. I pretty sure not many "incredible" SEC players hang around until they are seniors, but what do I know I only follow my alma maters team not a superior two team type fan.

Prevailing point is we went into their house and beat those boys ragged when the experts said we shouldn't have.

Florida had the talent to beat us even with all the injuries they had. We were decimated as well by injuries.

We are going to get our yards against any defense. We do it against UGA, Bama, Florida etc.....It's the nature of our offense. But the real problem for Florida that game was coaching.

Yes their offense was struggling, but if you watched any Georgia Southern games during that season one of the first things you'll notice was that anyone could throw against us. I agree completely coaching had a lot to do with it. This is not hyperbole... UF would have won that game with Ronnie Bell (State's QB) as their starter. Mornhinweg had zero confidence and a shoulder injury. He said after the game that the 46 yard td pass he threw and the last play felt like he ripped his shoulder out. He literally could not throw the ball downfield. Furthermore I've been saying for years that UF has had FCS caliber talent at WR. It's been ridiculous the lack of playmaking ability we have had there under Muschamp.

You are absolutely right that they had the talent and should have won. I already have said multiple times now that southern deserved to win. I didn't "pick apart" the win, I picked apart posts that made ridiculous statements.

No one is making excuses. Simply offering analysis and opinion. The injuries to UFs defense were significant because 1) it included our two best players and 2) those two players were our nose guard and middle linebacker. With those two guys on the field the game would have been very different. The team as a whole was still grossly unprepared (back to coaching) but Virginia Tech's middle linebacker showed this year that a great MLB can tremendously hinder a TO attack.

And there you go, folks. Even one of Georgia State's biggest internet fans refers to another team as "us". Just laughable!

Lol. Laugh all you want to. I dont apologize for having the passion and knowledge to sustain fandom for two teams. I'm sorry that's so far beyond comprehension for your feeble mind. Also take offense to the term "Internet fan".

I'm confused. Did you go to G State or UF?

State. Dad went to UF. Been going to UF games since I was 3. Have been to 119 games. So despite my degree UF we always be "us" to me. Granted I never thought I would care as much about GSU as I do. Now the passion I have for state sports dwarfs how much I care about UF. Does that change where I will be be last saturday of October every year? No. I will be in Jacksonville. Me and my dad are very close and UF games are special for us. I admit it's odd but I make it work.

The only thing worse than a 4 win season, is having 4 wins combined with your two teams.

You must have been drunk most of last fall.

You're telling me. It was a rough fall. Thought basketball was going to be my saving grace and then the carpet gets pulled out from under me. Sigh.

To the rest of you, clearly sarcasm is lost upon you.

Just know that reading that... gave me a nice warm feeling.
I've always hated UF. Now I hate uga, UF and GAST.
(Ok - Furman and of course App State). I pretty much hate ODU to because their coach is such an @$$.

I'm willing to forgive my rising dislike of UL if the tailgating and cooking is good enough 04-cheers

Be glad to give UF a rematch at OUR HOUSE -- ANY TIME!

Wait.... This thread is about Ole Miss? Then.. how did we... Oh.. I see - Mentioning them being beatable compared to the past SEC teams we have scheduled like Bama, UGA, Auburn etc... prompted a half Gator half - (what is the gast mascot again?.. some sort of cat, jaguar or panther or something.. looks sort of like an ugly albino coyote or something - I think it's a panther) = Panther... I guess we'll call him a a Gather? Anyway - that guy took us down the UF trail.

Ok.. So what does Gather know about beatable or beating SEC teams?

Tell us Chris (Gather)... How many SEC teams has gast beat?

OH... "ZERO WINS" against the SEC. HUM..

How many FBS teams has gast beat?

How many teams did gast beat last year... from any division?

Did I hear an echo on ZEROOOOOOOOOOOOO WINNNNSSSSSSSSS P E R I O D in 2013. Wow - amazing how the sound can carry like that in an empty dome... 05-stirthepot

You want this to be a rivalry? Well... it isn't really, but I thought I'd give you a taste of what it would sound like.

I keep seeing this but it is dead wrong. Florida was throwing the ball early. We dropped two or three interceptions. Our coverage in the first half was outstanding. Floridas strength was the run. If they threw the ball 40 times we would have blown them out.

Again... Did I mention state football once? Did I attempt to claim that they could/would beat Florida or any other SEC team? It's a rivalry because you are obviously so obsessed. If we didn't win any games then why do we matter to you? If it wasn't a rivalry, you wouldn't be itching to take a shot any chance you got... whether it's relevant to the conversation or not...

But I get it. I'd probably be doing this same thing if the situation were reversed. Get your shots in while you can.

Nobody wants to read back over 8 pages to see if you mentioned gast once.

It isn't a rivalry. It's called putting a gast fan in his place when he feels the need to talk about our ability or his opinion of our ability to beat other teams. Currently your place is last and as such, your opinion means squat. 07-coffee3

And as for getting our shots in "while we can" - well, that is a season that will be open for a long time. No need to hurry.

We will be rivals at some point. You are crazy if you think we are just jumping you because you are a Georgia State fan. If any other fan of a winless team critiqued our win over an SEC team then I promise they would be getting the same love from us that you are. Hopefully your program is alive long enough for us to have a real rivalry.

1. I don't care what you think of my opinion. I supported my opinion with facts. Most southern fans responded with hyperbolic statements like they had 19 starters out or said something similar to what you just did. Which was...

2. Your argument is elementary and you might as well stick your tongue at me and go "I know you are but what am I". My opinion is invalid because I cheer for Georgia State, but the only reason you knew that from reading this thread was my screen name. So what if it was ATLJoe? Would that have made my argument more valid?

You said it yourself. You jumped all over me because I'm a state fan. why? Because you are obsessed. You can't resist. Not a rivalry my ass.

RE: Georgia Southern to play at Ole Miss in 2016
I thought it was Ga St fans that claim there won't ever be a rivalry between Ga St and GS? Or is it any SB team? I forget. It gets deep in here sometimes, and I forgot my waders.

Funny you should say that. Since you are posting over on our board about our 2014 predictions does that make you obsessed?

Just like their stadium, they can't afford their own, so it's rented space.
